What Happened to Bud Quality?

Years ago, i use to get great bud. in the last few years, the bud i have been seeing is different than what i use to get.

Remember white widow and strains like that covered with white crystals looking like snow. sticky buds.

that light green sativa that smells like coffee and crumbs when you touch it to a crystal powder.

or, that orange haired BC bud with crystals.

everything i see now looks like dry outdoor, i think. its more leafy, and dry, and not as many crystals. is this because we are seeing more outdoor now due to need in volume coming with legalization in many states?

I just don't understand, i miss the bud i use to get.

Greed. Quantity over quality. Also the market, not everyone wants to pay high prices for a lil bit of weed. Rather get more for less even if not the highest quality. I think it kinda evens itself out, high quality you smoke less so somewhat equals out.

My outdoor is sticky as fuck not dry at all ....and my indaca dom OGs are super sticky and smell like a dank Starbucks when I bust a nugg open .....I think it comes down to lazy people not caring about anything more than money and flooding the world with shot weed .....indoor or outdoor will be shit if the grower is just a money hungry noob who doesn't enjoy our hobby and just wants a buck .....my patients look forward to my outdoor actually ....but I also care about them and my plants keeping things tidy and clean well taken care of ....so I disagree with outdoor being dry and crumbly if you know what your doing that is

Connections do play a big role. Where I'm from I've always paid 150/oz but quality varies alot. I've had what I consider damn good bud, but have no idea what it was. I'm not very social at all which plays a roll i'm sure. I know there's quality in my state but its who you know. I'm a noob to all of this, been smoking for 10 years but only had two things someone gave me a name for and that's been the last year or two. Just my opinion on things.

I don't even pay attention to anyone else's smoke/buds, I have my own. I don't care what someone else has, it's of no interest to me when I grow my own that I know without a doubt is grown well, flushed and cured properly.

I wont even smoke anyone else's bud. I'm not rude about it, but I'll just politely pass if it's not mine.

The commercial markets are flooded with average cannabis. I visit dispensaries somewhat regularly and 90% of their flowers are average at best. Ultra dank is out there but it takes searching out. Better yet, grow your own but even that requires searching out ultra dank seeds for the desired results.

Lame.
So many wanna be pot snobs.
To be a true connoisseur one must have experienced all types of smoke. From the rattiest nasty brown to the most superbly grown chronic.
But also one has to appreciate all forms and respect what lead us to where we are now.

Thanks for the ball busting A.:-)
This is what I feels makes a connoisseur.
If you only have smoked today's bud, you only know a little portion of this plant, it's history, or a spiritual connection to this magnificent healing plant.
I appreciate your pov. As for me, I honestly don't think I'd have to sample a crapburger to fully appeciate the goodness of
