what eats a hole in the stem?

Ok... I noticed this morning I have a small hole in the stem of one of my plants...its about 2 inches up from the soil and like 1/8 maybe 3/16 inch around? Anyone know what does this?

I've never seen that but it can't be good.

Something has been chewing on it... Any chompers indigenous to your area? It is an outdoor grow it looks like.... Look into plant eating insects where you live
