What does CREE™ (REFERENCE DESIGN) - suggest NON C.O.B.s? Efficiency?

Am curious as to why CREE says not to use COBS as they are not as efficient. Not sure where I read it but the article was in reference to the Reference Design for the HPS shootout.

As well, take a look at this guy, (he wasn't selling for a while and it makes you wonder if he changed the LEDs or not as he's been picked up and may have fallen into the corporate greed thing.

He's the PERFECT SUN guy, but this light is (SO HE SAYS), so powerful, it needs a light mover.
Cant post link to new.....
I want to believe. (LOL)

Also, I like growmau5, he has some great builds, his best is with COBS and gets 850 watts with ~ 1.91 gpw of dried bud. (Not bad). All in all, LED is here to stay.

May not give you 3LBS per light (trick) but the .75 OF WHAT HPS DOES IS REALLY SUPERIOR -I think a combo is good.

Anyway, would like feedback as to COB vs why CREE would say that and suggest like the above PERFECT SUN, KIND LED, and so on. ..

Peace

perfect sun light guy is also... you guessed it.. full of shit with his spot-par reading on his overly-focused fixture
