how fucking much of a scam is that really? they are keeping your money safe.

Nearly every other instance of bank's losing your money

Its almost like you haven't lived the last 5 years with the rest of the world.

Im also having a hard time believing that it only costs you 4 to maintain an account. You must never spend a cent, and carefully manage exactly how much money is in your account, or you just need to re-read the fine print.

For many myself included, its a matter of principal. "Here, let me hold your money that is yours already, but im going to charge you to use it, charge you to hold it, and limit how much you can withdraw." Sounds like a sweet deal to me, hell send me your money ill keep it safe with mine. Just give this fine print pamphlet a quick once over and sign it for me.

Rest of the world?
I'm in Australia. I dont think we have ever had a bank fail. Even if one did our money is protected by federal law. IE its very very safe.
And i dont pay any charges on my personnel accounts only a business one ($10 a month thats tax deductible).
I can also withdraw as much cash as i want over the counter. I do have to give them notice if its over a certain amount ($75k from memory) witch is fair.
Banks also pay you interest on any money they are holding for you. Granted due to interest rates being so low for so long it wouldn't be much over there. But there is nothing stopping you from investing with an over seas bank that gives good interest.
Are banks bastards?..yes, but not for the reasons you said..at least not in other parts of the world at any rate.

my in-town brick and mortar credit union charges $3.00 per month to maintain. the online ones, Schwab, Vanguard, E-trade are free if you have minimums in the account. but again this is all legit cash, different than @justugh situation.
Idk barn it's almost like you haven't lived these last 5 years

Buy a cow or 10 on the market, lots of wright offs and banks understand bigger cash deposits if your a farmer, gotta pay farm hands and feed and fencing, fertilizer. Tractors trucks, lots of expenses. Set it up as a LLC and get a accountant familure in the situation. That's what big dogs do around here. 100k on a used tractor that went to scrap isn't anything new.

It was in Brisbane where it was decided that your deposited money is in fact now debt the bank owes you. Its the most ridiculous concept in the world, to have someone else hold your money for you. Wait for itbongsmilie... the collapse of the State Bank of South Australia and the State Bank of Victoria, Pyramid Building Society (Pyramid), and the case of fraud and subsequent collapse of life insurers Occidental Life and Regal Life. "I'm in Australia. I dont think we have ever had a bank fail." litterally 3 seconds of googling. And there's more than that thats just a few significant ones.

Its not that i think that you are a liar, just that im pretty sure you need to re-read the fine print. Being in "another part of the world" doesnt automatically exclude you from shifty banking practices.:wall:

Ya really
I already posted some examples of Australian bank failures, but here you go.

http://www.cbc.ca/beta/news/canada/bank-customer-s-lawsuit-raises-questions-about-fraud-liability-1.2561676

A few more seconds of googling found that. What part of the world is the part that protects your money you trusted with someone else? It truly is like you are to young to understand there is a long established history of banks failing and fraud and lost money.

:bigjoint:Its not like im mad at you or anything, i just dont understand A) the concept of giving the majority of your money to someone else for safekeeping and B) the idea that people have that the money is safe and insured to the teeth should something happen. I dont trust banks for shit. I keep my money in undisclosed location(s?) and the only way you can rip me off is to fool me somehow into buying snake oil or burn my place down or rob me on the street, compared to the myriad of ways a bank can and has and currently is stealing your money. I just dont trust banks, that's my bag. Maybe you do but you better hope some 12 yr old doesnt find a way to grab your banking info online to buy the latest minecraft skin or whatever :hump:

You must of missed my other link, where a mans banking info was stolen and used to purchase a race car of all things and the bank would not refund his money because the thief used his pin number. Like i said, if you want to trust your money with someone else, my money has never been stolen, and i have plenty of room for yours. Just sign over the fine print and trust me, i will cover you in the event that i lose your money or your identity is stolen.

Meh just stash it like you would nutes out in the woods. Bury it and toss a semi large flat rock over the top of it. Use plastic peanut butter jars cause the lids won't rust.
It's easier to use money if you have a legit on paper job though. Use the on paper job for the bills and cash for your other various expenses. Vehicle maintenance and repairs etc. Electronics. Hell most normal people panic like a mofo when they get hit with one of those big random setbacks. Tranny or fuel pump goes out and they're looking at having to come up with over 1k min to cover those expenses.
Spend your cash on some fun stuff too. Get that big tv. Get a few gaming consoles. Take up hobbies to spend your free time (and money) on. Painting and sculpting are good time sinks. Buy some gym equipment. Then you get the return investment of getting fit. Go have some flings with random ladies. Catch a few concerts and see some musicians that you love live and up close. Hell I smoked up some members of a pretty famous metal band a few years ago because I was at the right place at the right time after a show. Got to chill with em for a couple hours and some cool merch out of it as well. It was like that scene in TPB when Sebastian Bach and the boys were getting ripped. You grew this?
You don't have to horde your $.

Yeah i have a credit union too, im pretty sure they are insured in a different way than a bank though. Its not a conspiracy, plenty of ppl have had their money stolen from them and couldn't get it back for some reason, whether it was the bank itself or a clever opportunist. Thats why identity theft and ppl stealing your banking information sucks so much, because under certain circumstances you can't get that money back, otherwise it wouldn't be such a big deal. Just in the US one statistic shows that around 7% of Americans have their banking information stolen, almost 1 out of 10. Average damages at $3500. Botnets, Phishing, Vishing, Hackers, Dumpster Diving for documents, Social Engineering and Fake Call Centers, there's to many ways for your info to be stolen and money jacked. You can do everything right and still be a victim, Target was hacked and i dont know the exact statistic but alot of folks were hit. And they weren't the only case. But if goldfish crackers tell you everything's safe, who am I to argue with that? Sucks about the anime deal, i would get that checked out before it turns cancerous
