actually, Oswald was from Louisiana and actually defected to Russia for awhile. Most people believe he was part of a larger conspiracy anyway and planned little of the event himself. What is know is that he was a crack shot. Booth was born in Maryland to very educated parents.

There are a lot of parallels between the crap going on in our country now and what was happening in the '60's. I am a baby boomer. I protested, did the sit ins....My generation was the one that was going to make things "Right". On a personal level, I feel that "My Generation", once we finished college and began to earn money, gave up. Sold out might be a better way of saying it. I'm not saying that positive changes did not happen back then from our speaking out. I'm just saying that we kind of "forgot" about the Ideals we talked about back in the day. I don't read or hear anything in the media these days about the war in Iraq. (Is it over. Was I sleeping when peace was declared)? I know I'm babbling on here. I just wanted to add my two cents worth. The only way we can get changes to happen is to make sure that our elected representatives know what WE want. People need to unite in numbers and protest for change. The media and our legislators can't ignore us if we unite in numbers and tell them what WE want. This is My/Our country. We've done it before. Let's do it again! Peace!

maybe people dont understand that whether we like or not our government has become strictly a two party system... sure independents sometimes get elected as congressmen or senators but only rarely... ron paul has a few great ideas i agree (not so sure about getting rid of all taxes... good thought but im not sure it would ever work out in the real world) but him getting elected could be the worse possible thing for this country right now.. congress would be a stalemate between demorats and republicans and anything that did make it out of congress would be sent right back cause ron paul doesnt seem to agree with anyone. the next four years would be a waste of time. at a time when change is needed the most. and as far as voting for president based on who supports the legalization of marijuana is ridiculous... even if some candidate does support it its never gonna happen. this initiative would require much more support in congress to ever even be considered. possibly take a candidates stance on marijuana into consideration when voting for your local representatives... this would certainly help the cause a lot more. my personal opinions: republicans have had control of our government the past eight years and shits hit the fan so theyve had their chance(wouldnt have gave them the chance in the first place if it was up to me)... as far as the democratic candidates, clinton is a classic politician willing to do and say anything that will get her votes... my bet is, if she were ever elected president, she wouldnt even know what to do once she got there. that leaves obama, whose lack of experience worries me but whose intelligence and presence when speaking along with his natural leadership abilities are more exciting than ever. we need change and if a young black president with fresh ideas isnt change then i dont know what the fuck is..??

i kinda got carried away there and never relaly even got to my point... its easy to say that people should vote for what they believe in but the sad truth is that our government has evolved into this two party system where our only choice which can actually have any real influence is to pick one of the two... even if u see it as the lesser of two evils. anyone who honestly thinks that something can be accomplished by voting for someone like ron paul i challenge u to explain how this is even possible... at this point id say its pretty clear that the republican party is not taking us in the directoin we wanna go.. id go further to say that theyre taking us in the exact opposite direction.

is the only dude we need in that office right now, im surprised how people really think all these promises all the canidates make are really going to happen, ron paul is a constitutionalist who belives the people should have power that means if he wants somthing passed he will have a vote on it.
