Good..now look at the hues NOT the bulb itself...2700k has a reddish orange hue..the 3500k has a greenish yellow hue and the 6500k has a bluish white hue...the greenish yellow of the 3500k does nothing for the plants or photosynthesis if you like big words...as a matter of fact HPS are almost too far in the red spectrum (2200k) but the intensity of the lights makes up for it producing great nugs

try not to use the 5000k bulbs if possible they are in the green color waves. i have used the 5000k bulbs myself. in learning about leds is where i saw a bunch of kelven color graphs, and the 5000k is green. 2700k to 4000k for flower and 6000k to 6500k for veg. but i'm like most here i like a mix of colors. i gave all my 5000k bulbs to the household.
there was a grower on here somewhere who used a mixed spectrum that included 5000k bulbs....I can't remember if it was for vegging or flowering but I do remember he grew some impressive buds.

I go to Home Depot and get the 300w cfls. They're soft white so I think they're 6500. They are good strong cfls. Grew some nice bud with them. I made a veg box and have them in there

i know i had 5000k and 2700k, and the plants were going after the 2700k. i wondered what was wrong till i found the graphs showing the color ranges. bad part is all i have now is 2700k till i fire up my 400 watt mh. then i think i'm going to run it all the way through with all my cfl, led, and small hps lights to go with it in flower.

How many watts of 2700k output do you currently have?

CFL's...CFL's...lol
The reasons i said im undecided is because i have a brand new mh/hps socket and 400w mh and a 600w hps that i bought out of newbiness :wall::mrgreen: But im intreagued to fire them up one way or another. Or just finish out my first grow with CF..IZZELs... And just start my 2nd grow mh/hps op than after that ill do a led grow to learn what works best. This is what its all about the experience, knowledge and wisdom. Implementation and executions.:peace:

at the moment i don't have anything going, had a mite problem. so i'm spraying and going to start bombing. when i do start back up i will be changing up my lights again, but i have around 500 watts of cfls in the 2700k. that was for a 2' x 2' x 4' box, my box now is 4' x 4' x 7' so the cfls need to be sup lighting.

yea make sure you get some splitters and a few hang sockets or google cfl fixtures and check out them pics kind of gives you an idea on what you might want to build or create.

Last grow I did not rotate my plant at all, and on one bud I had a 2700k bulb on one side and a 5000k or 6500k (not sure which) on the other side of it....Well the 2700k side had way more pistols than the 5000/6500k side.

i'm trying to get away from cfls and fluorescent lights all the way around. i never liked the quality of the buds or smoke from them, buds where always on the thin lite side and the smoke just wasn't what it should have been. led and hid mix coming up next grow, and heading to just leds before it is over.
