Im still in a dilemma on what actual cfl to use. Im up for them all but i need consitancy. Right now i have 33w 6400ks. Im getting more 45w and a maybe a few 55ers. But which ones do i want to get. I have two different 45w bulbs im trying to choose from. 6500k or 5500k? I see the two are different in temp but what do i want warm or cool? Whats more efficient?

You elk want the 6500k for vegging and 2700k for flowering...I veg under 23 Watters and flower under 55 Watters..I grow in a small area though !

The lower watt bulbs(23,26w) have better lumens to watts ratios....my 23w 2700k bulbs I get from Wal-Mart are 1600 lumens,the 5000k are 1600 lumens.
The higher watt bulbs get hotter and cost twice as much.

Now,the 23w 5000k bulbs I get(walmart)are called Daylight bulbs.The 6500k are called Bright White?..i think.The 2700k are called Soft White.
The 6500k are hard to find,so most of us use 5000k with no problems...
Imo..it's best to have multiple light sources than to have one or a few higher watt bulbs.

Good stuff bros. What do you really think of the 45w bright white bulb at about 2800lumens? I cant seem to find a 55 watter... the one i seen on the Zon is about $30, $12.00 + 18.00 for shipping. But i have 3 4packs of 45w bulbs bright white for $20.49 each 4pack free shipping.

I only got (7) 33w 6400k bulbs at 2090lumens at this time. But the plants are doing ok for now till i get more light on them. I hope you grower broers are entertained remembering your very first plant or grow. I put the chart up just as a refresher which i got from the community. I promise not to be a bore8-):peace:

Seems to me by the pics you're doing a fine job so far...topping...LSTing...you maybe want to raise the shorter plants up to match the height is the other plants but it's looking good my man .

try not to use the 5000k bulbs if possible they are in the green color waves. i have used the 5000k bulbs myself. in learning about leds is where i saw a bunch of kelven color graphs, and the 5000k is green. 2700k to 4000k for flower and 6000k to 6500k for veg. but i'm like most here i like a mix of colors. i gave all my 5000k bulbs to the household.

Thanks for the "word" DLuck that was 8-)of you, i appreciate that. Thats exactly what i had in mind. But my instincts told me to let them grow out another week to be able to tie down multiple. Also, im realizing that i did not completely fill the bucket to get that side lighting like i want. Im missing about a pinch over a quart where as id have to get light down in the bucket as appose to soil being filled to the top where i can just position light around the bottom which would be under the canopy for strong growth for cloaning was my counter intention. But im going to transplanting to a 7g for the rest of the ride so ill make sure all that is adjusted to her liking. I just tied the other plant down too.:peace:Bros...

Yea, i can dig that bro. Im just going to distribute the 6400k, 6500k, and throw a few 2700k in which seems like the norm on the production side of things. Im never really hearing anything about other (k). Im with you on that.:blsmoke:

Whats up friends i figured out what im going with. Im going with what i call the "studio grow". Im going with the 45w limostudio cfls with the studio set up. And ill distribute some other kelvin as well but my star cfl is the Billy D 6500k at about 2800-3000 lumens.

You need a balance of cool white(6500k) and warm red(2700k) understand kelvin is the color of the light, sticking to just one color will screw your plants up, I did a test recently and even I was stunned by growing a plant totally under cool white(6500k) was squat and flat the other warm white(2700k) was tall lanky and stretched...that said I germ under 4000k, called daylight and am suspicious, .. waiting on results ...lol
as far as lumens go study this up ...well worth the effort bottom line is get the biggest wattage you can afford,
ensure the kelvin is equal and plants never get enough lux ...lol

When you say balance of cool white and warm red whats your ratio? And when you the biggest wattage what do you mean by "biggest wattage?"
