for some odd reason, imvho, it seems that sagamatha seems to fall through the cracks for a lot of people.. idk why, you you really hardly ever hear about sagamatha on tons of forums like riu..
i like sagamatha though, i grew their strawberry d-lite a few years ago from fem seeds, and i really liked it, and their breeder tony, an american transplant in holland, seems to have a really good rep among other breeders..
Thanks for this info. RB71 :-) Yeah, i noticed the lack of reviews /info on Sagarmatha also. And then you hear about a Highly commercialized co. Like Greenhouse which many ppl complain about their seeds not germinating. If there is one thing that pisses me off it's Non-Viable, old seeds. Over the years, I learned which companies to stay away from and which can expect good results. Hey Racer, do you have Any info on Mandala Seeds -Satori? The description seems interesting; it's a mostly Nepalese Sativa with an active/creative high (exactly what i need during the day) Anyway, holla @ me if you get some time:joint:

oh hell yeah, mandala's satori seems to have a good rep from all i have seen and read about her. never grew it myself, so i don't have much first hand info on it..

Thanks bro, here's a question though.. Since Satori was made available for sale back in early 2003 (or so) do you think they are using FRESH seed stock these days? I've run into poor germ % a few times with old, dessicated seeds that just wouldn't pop no matter what. It's a bit of a crapshoot, since Satori is a Nepalese Sativa (mostly) i wonder if I could go with another Nepal Sativa (cannabiogen Nepalese Highland) or a couple others i have found. Decisions, decisions..:eyesmoke:

i highly doubt that they still have some 11 year old seeds laying around that they're trying to sell..
umm, i know in that link to seedfinder, it said something about them refreshing the cross up lately, but i have no idea when that was written tbh..
i'd not really worry about buying the satori if that's something you think you'd like..

Yeah, it seems reasonable to assume they would refresh their stock. Sooooo Many Seed Choices... hell i'm popping like another 25 bagseeds atm too. It came from some totally decent mid-grade smoke that dropped some kief in a grinder. The resulting plants look JUST like pictures of skunk #1, and the growth pattern is mostly Sativa. I'm cramped for space, so i really like feminized seeds, but these bag-seeds look like they are capable of producing some NICE plants !! - Pleasantly surprised :bigjoint:

i'm popping some decent bag-seeds and getting really good germ rates. Only inconvenience is having soo many plants of which only half (more of less) will be female. Here are 2 pics of the bag-seed plants, they look like some sativa-divas imo, very similar to the way skunk #1 looks while growing.

DSCN0703.JPG More bag-seed plants in party cups. Will transplant once i see pistils. They have been on 12/12 indoors for last 2 weeks or so, therefore should show sex any day now.

sorry bout the double report..i thought one was erased.oh well.same thing basically
Very Nice. That gives us an idea of what to expect from our western winds ladies. The 2 bigger ones FINALLY finished their stretch a week ago. Now it's just pistils and the countdown is on. That flowering time really is a deterrent, but we're going to keep the Kali around for our personal smoke (and anyone else lucky enough to partake). I'm sure it will be worth the wait when it's finally ready. The Lemon Kush will surely come down before the Kali, so it will be nice toking on the first while i watch the second finish up/. Peace :bigjoint:

Hey rory, I want to clone my Kali but i have no rooting hormone. I was thinking of just taking a few cuttings off the lowest branches and sticking them in soil. Could i use a high P fertilizer to facilitate the rooting process? I have to work with what i have atm - (nothing, lol). I remember Years ago i rooted clones just by planting them in party cups and 15w fluorescent desk-lamp & no humidity dome. They rooted in less then a week. I was thinking of doing the same with my Kalis and sticking them in some makeshift "green-house" with humidity dome. What do you think?

DSCN0789.JPG My biggest western winds (kali mist) girl. Finished her stretch at over 4 feet tall. She (and her sister) were the last ones to throw pistils, but now all my girls are in flower :p

ive had Western Winds going all year. i started with a fem sag seed and cloned from there. my first batch i had to cut early and it was still nice to smoke but not pretty. second batch was fire everyone was loving it. third batch is at 5 weeks 12/12 right now and looking very fine. ill post a few pics when i get to my pc.

psyched to see folks appreciating this delightful strain:p.

i started with two seeds. neither pheno was especially stretchy.
cloned easily and grew beautifully in mineralized soil 7 gal, 500 w led

I took my first trip to Amsterdam in 1999 and Western Winds from Sagarmatha was 1 of 3 strains I got from Tony. IIRC there were about 6 females, all of them tasted the same to me, very stable on taste is what I thought to myself. Out of 6 females 2 of them were grew much different than the rest, one of them never finished flowering, it went 18 weeks with very little bud growth, it was huge, killed it. The other odd one grew huge strings of pea sized calyx's on a massive airy bud. The other four were also large yielders but one of them had the tightest structure and was the one I kept. More than likely it had just a tiny bit of the NL expression to it. I was a greenhorn back then and over the 3 years of growing Westeren Winds sometimes buds would be really tight and other times a little stringy. I thought to myself if I had worked with the others it's possible I may not have kept the best one. A couple of the other phenos were much larger yielding than the one I kept. I was interested in this strain because they said it had no ceiling, that you would just get higher and higher. Not so with my pheno anywho. It tasted like it smelled Sesame Seed oil, maybe a hint of anise to it as well. After burning a joint of this your whole house would reek like a oriental restaurant, smelled just like cooking with sesame oil. It had a soaring clear high, up, up very chatty herb.
