Didn't get a chance to take a pic, sadly. yesterday I saw this green bug on the top of a leaf, maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch long. It's back legs stuck out way behind it and were long, kind of like a water skipper. It looked like it could be a beneficial insect, maybe a baby mantis but it looked a little bit different.
There were no signs of it eating the leaf, so I decided to check on it later and make sure it wasn't doing any damage. Came back that evening and it had laid a shitload of eggs on the top of leaf. I freaked and smacked it and the leaf, it and the eggs fell off and I stepped on it.
Any clue what it could have been? Never seen it before in my life. It could have been a good bug, but the eggs on the leaf made me think it's babies might feast
