Weed butter attempt - still liquid?

I attempted to make weed butter yesterday and after a night in the fridge is still liquid... Any insight would be much appreciated!

I used about 3-4 grams if weed, about 120 ml of butter, a small measuring cup worth...

I boiled water in a pot then added the butter... The butter was already liquid when I added it... I had melted it on a pan.. Could this be the problem? It shouldn't make a difference I think to add liquid butter instead of solid shouldn't make a difference but who knows??

After I added the liquid butter to the water I lowered the stove to simmer and put the weed in and let it simmer for 2 hours. After that I strained it into a container through a standard kitchen strainer.

Anyway I was just wondering what my options are. Will it work if I use it in a receipe that includes water?

Also worth noting that the Colour of it is not green but pale champagne...

Anyone have any ideas!!!?

the butter did not solidify on top of the water for you? I am perplexed. My butter is always melted and liquid when I add it to my decarbed material so that isn't the problem. Hope you figure it out :)

Cook it with too high of heat?

I had a batch get away from me on the stove, had a rolling boil for 10 minutes. It never set up either ...

There are a few butter pieces in the water now after a week... I don't think they do anything though...
UNless you lost A LOT of the butter through the straining process...you should have really close to the same amount of butter after that you started with.

Usually, it solidify's on the top and you just drain out the water.

I don't know what to tell ya...

I've only ever used unsalted butter. I know you are supposed to be able to use any oil really - because it's the fat that the Cannibanoids bind to.

I used butter...

Not a lot of weed though maybe 3 grams... Maybe too much water to boil?

I think the mason jar method would be better? Any cons of using mason jars?

3 g - too small. Need an oz per lb of butter (approx)

3 g, in my batch, is a couple of Tbsp of butter.

You'll loose that much in the straining.
