We need some help with PTSD in Michigan

Efforts are underway in Michigan to have ptsd added to the list of approved conditions. I would appreciate it if patients with ptsd using cannabis would contact me with their stories. 100-300 words, just big enough to be held up and digested as positive patient experiences (names, city, and phone number required but will be edited out of the presented letters). We have people on the new condition board and they are requesting patient experiences, so please help.

You may send to my personal email, [email protected], make sure to note that your story (but not necessarily identifying information) may be released to the panel.

Thanks in advance for your help, this will help patients in Michigan and other conditions will be requested in the future. Please make it a personal story (enclose a photo- that really makes a difference to be able to put a face on it). Michigan residents are preferred but we'd like to hear from others, especially in states that allow ptsd.

I'm sure I can send you some literate vets from all generations Dr. Bob. That said, I have had concerns about PTSD patients use of early cut sativas (ie speedy) causing "bad trips". I believe the trigger here is the similarity to the adrenaline rush felt during their first "bad trip". This isn't to say Big Pharma's solutions are any less dangerous, we just need to get that word out.

That would be perfect and yes, by all means repost. There is a time deadline, so it is important to get them in. Vets are great, so are others that have been traumatized.

The most important thing that I have found, is exactly what TheMan13 had said. Indicas are much better. Couchlock buzz, obviously ones labeled low anxiety. All the great Sativas and hybrids that people medicate with to excite them, or expand your mind, like for writing music, or doing whatever is what should be avoided. PTSD is a great example of why dispensaries are useful. a ptsd patient really needs to test drive strains and see what is helpful and what should be avoided.

Anyway Dr. Bob. If you haven't seen or read Treating Yourself magazine. I highly recommend it. It deals with marijuana as a medicine. This is not a high times magazine with half naked chicks and crazy shit through out it.(I do like that too, I just bought copies of both a few hours ago.).
Here is a link to their website. It has a link for old issues. There is a wealth of info there I am sure you would find interesting. I just printed up the subscription form. Merry Christmas to me again.

I appreciate the link. I'll have a look, but the board really wants local personal stories and reports from the states that allow it already.

not so much strains, but the results folks have with their ptsd when they have access to cannabis in general. We want to give them access to it.

I've talked with released prisoners who suffer from PTSD that have come to the hospital,
i suppose that makes sense. Not my department though.

That makes the personal stories sound like they are important. I will get a few stories to you.
I have more links for more PTSD info also for anyone interested. I am not on my computer right now,
ill post them with my coffee.

Hey Dr. Bob, I have started receiving feedback from PTSD vets and most have confidentiality concerns. Some worry about security of names and addresses and others the threat of Treason, as so many of our situations are shrouded in secrecy. Can you address this for me?

Thanks,
TheMan13

yes, I'll remove all but the first name and the city prior to submitting them. I'll treat them in dr/pt confidentiality. This is to help other patients. I never release patient names or identifying data.

The way I understand it, PTSD is not recognized. Patients need to use other reasons to actually get a mj card. I think Dr Bob is looking for "testimony" that mj helps people with PTSD. Then he can use that info to try to get PTSD recognized at the state level. (I think. lol)

I had to double check my facts. I thought my dad had his original card from PTSD. He didn't, it was from something else, through the VA.
