So... I noticed most bud you tested was in the 14% THC range....
OK I understand math...

This is a serious question---
14% of what ? All the trimmed bud that was provided for the test?
Just wondering, what THC 14% of what...

Yes so even though it sounds like a stupid question....

I'm wondering if HPLC uses heat or not?

Not a stupid question at all.
It's 14% THC by mass. So if you take 1 gram of bud, you get 140 mg THC.
We take a part of the sample provided for the test, about 1/4 of the nugget or so (about 200 mg) and get the weight % of THC of that. When we have done re-tests of another 200 mg of the same nugget, we have had pretty consistent results.

HPLC doesn't use heat. We try not to put the samples through anything that isn't seen by a user, to get the numbers that users would see.

Pretty much... so a nice trimmed up bud with out any stem part will average around 14%...
If that's the case I get it...
