Watering System for soil! DIY=)

Okay.. So ive been pretty high as a kite lately wondering how the hell am I going to water these kids since I work all day, and all these personal things that I have to do within my life, on top of my schedule I would have to water them every other day, to maintaining them, whatever I have to do to keep em optimus prime as possible is basically a second job. and I came with a solution, I will build my very own watering system for soil.. I haven't done it yet, this is just a rough draft of my master piece, so all the negativity and hating get out of my direction because it is a female emotion. and to whoever that likes to add on by all means.. good luck to all.. hope this helps

I have browse at local hardware stores like, osh, ace hardware, homedepot.. and they all have it..

heres my list.. you guys can figure out how many you need and build your own diagram, this is basically for my setup

- 3/4 female hose thread compression adapter to 1/2 hose
- 1/2 compression T
- 1/2 compression elbow
- 4 outlet manifold hose valve
- 1/2 hose dripline
- plastic stakes

LOL! my drawing aint the best. but hope you catch my pifttt.. I will connect this to my pump with a timer and whaa lahhh! hoodini! somehow the water has disappeared from my tank and into the kids!

also with the picture with the water ring I was thinking of maybe adding another T compression and do something like that..

fyi.. i use the kiss method.. less is more.. so i use a lot of basic nutes, nothin heavy. just keeping as simple as can be..

goodluck fellow green thumbers!

Also.. when I water I like to have a little run off just so I know the soil is fully soaked with vitamins with no dry spot.. Does that make sense?

I thought of building something like this I was going to use a 50gal plastic trash can with a sub pump plumbed to a manifold and a air stone in the bottom of the can so the water stays fresh run lines to all my pots and put it on a timer.

It's a drip irrigation system. A lot of DTW coco growers use them. I just made one for next run.

A looped manifold helps maintain consistent pressure and equal flow. Run 1/4" line off that. I used 1/2" PVC for the manifold and top hat grommets to insert the spaghetti tubing.

I do like the hose connectors. Would make things easier for sure

Pretty cool. I use a 4 way brass fitting coming off of my hose bib with two 1/2 inch lines coming off that and timers on each one. Punch micro lines in at all my plant sites and then adjustable micro emitters on the ends. Presto!

I have a similar set up but more manual. Mine feed with drip halos gravity fed out of a 5 gal bucket. All in all it works great.

Things to ponder...
1) Where does run off go?
2) Related to #1, all plants will not drink the same amount. For example, those closest to a fan will absorb more. So with a fixed time, some plants will have a lot more run off to contend with. Or put otherwise, there won't be one perfect time setting for all plants.

I am fortunate thatmy tent is by my side all day. When I am dripping, takes about an hour every third day, I can watch sporadically and turn off the supply to any one plant. With a normal sized container the pot sits in to collect run off, I would worry about one overflowing if I forgot to keep an eye on them.

The link below has a vid of my setup. Maybe it will give some addtl ideas.

Good luck!

Nice i have done this before and was pretty sucessful my self. 1 question tho for any one out there that might know this i was told before to go plastic when i made mine only because metals such as brass and copper build up residue quicker? Any thoughts?
Great post tho man
