Watering question for freshly planted Autos

Background.. planted germinated seeds last night directly into my 3 gallon pots. Soil is a 50/50 of FFOF and Happy Frog with a solo cup size pocket of Happy Frog in the middle for the seedling. I watered the center pocket and let it dry a bit. Planted the seeds and remoistened the top soil a bit with a spray bottle.

Now to my question.... since the entire pot didn't get fully watered how long do I have until I have to worry about the tap root hitting dry soil (thus when I have to water for the first time?) So far I'm just try to not over water, but I don't want to wait to long and kill them..

I moisten the whole pot about every 24 hours on mine and they seem to be lovin life I'm doing the same thing as you pretty much but I have them under 600 watt hps so the pot drys out pretty quick

I'm running a fairly high powered LED (need it even though they haven't broken the soil to keep my temps right in the tent) so the top layer is drying out kind of fast as well.

I've heard other people say that after the initial watering they wait several days before watering again. It's a bit confusing as this is my first auto grow. Maybe I'll do a light, full pot watering tonight (24 hours after planting) and see what happens. Anybody else with advice?

You just need to keep them damp

I`d wait 2 days maybe 3 but only you can see it and feel it pick up the pots and see how empty they feel ?

Then if its dry water them with ph`d water

Or sometimes I just let them sit in a little water for 5 to 10 mins so I know the bottom is damp so I know the roots will be heading south

The pot weight thing isn't really going to help me quite yet as I did not water the entire pot, just the center area where my pocket of Happy Frog is. Would you recommend giving the whole pot a gentle watering tonight? I don't want to drown my seedlings.
