watering plants with coffee?

Coffee is not a bad substitute for PH down; I've tested used grounds from one pot of coffee, and they lower the PH of a hempy bucket watered with R/O water to 5.8 for two waterings before they lose the effect. Lots of gardeners put used grounds directly around acid loving plants... got nitrogen and some micros.

why do people say the same things over and over again? like OMG that so bad! times 10!... i had to filter through so much poop just to get some decent answers... ie. like hear is spelled here, well no shit it is but you knew what they meant right? WTF!!!!!!!?!... thanks for the info tho, for the ones that actually said some thing useful... and yes i know this thread is old, dont correct me on that one just to make yourself feel good...

Like one of the other guys said, there is nothing wrong in moderation. Once in a blue moon won't hurt.. On a cold morning sometimes I add a bit to get my water temp up, and they have never seemed happier, as long as you only use a little, its a good source of extra potassium and magnesium.

Thanks to all of you that had me cracking up reading this thread. Have a great day and a coffee or two.

Straight coffee no. If you use the grounds or left overs after a pot, soak in water for a day and strain out the grounds you have a liquid fert. But It MUST BE PHD DOWN, TO 6-6.5 BEFORE IT TOUCHES YOUR PLANT or SOIL. even then you have to be careful. I use a mix of tea and coffee proffed down and mixed in with my normal tap water.. teas and coffee are packed with potassium, calcium, nitrogen, magnesium, and phosphorus. Everything you get when buying Chem ferts just not as potent. Now, saying that, tea and coffee have higher levels of nitrogen than other elements. We know what nitroboost can do to our plants, good or bad You just don't dump liquid npk, and hope floats right. Science is undisputed, application and results are the goal right.

Coffee is pretty damn acidic bad idea, flush with ph’d water and move on. If it sounds like nonsense it probably is. If watering your plants with coffee didn’t sound like idiotic nonsense to you well then you have bigger problems than your plants. Smdh.

There's damned sure cheaper sources of nitrogen. Cal mag handles the other two elements derived from coffee in any significant amounts.

About as cheap as you can get. 10-1-4 organic fertilizer.

I am not an expert grower, I have a fair idea of what I am doing and I know this is a thread from the dead.

That said, what thought process goes through someone's mind to think things like this are a good idea?

I have been coming on weed growing forums for a couple of years now, this is the only one worth bothering with. I have read posts detailing all sorts of shit like this, Gator Aid, Diet Coke, Cherry Coke, Red Bull and now coffee. I understand people using coffee grounds as a mulch for acidic loving plants and as an additive in compost bins, our local Starbucks gives it away specifically for composting.

As far as I am concerned growing Cannabis is the adult equivalent of those beans little kids grow on a paper towel in school, because it is fairly impossible to fuck it up. Really, Cannabis, stick it in a decent sized pot, in a fairly simple soil, water regularly and feed it some very basic fertiliser. As long as it has enough air and light it will grow. Yet stoners seem to fuck it up and come up with the most stupid shit you can ever think of.

Ya, same here. My wife brought home a couple bug bags from Starbucks but I wouldn't put it in my indoor weed pots. I don't need too and I've heard it's been sprayed or something with pesticides.

the other day i made some coffee from left over coffee grinds and watered my plants with it, hoping for the caffeine to help growth. but only after did i realize that coffee is really acidic and i might've done some real damage. i did dilute the coffee with a little bit of water and made sure it was cold 9put it in the freezor for 20 mins.) before watering with it. has there been any damage done?
Caffeine is not that good for plants don t know if they absorb it or not, try use some coffe grounds.I don t know about the use of coffe! Yeah be safe and flush that!
