I would'nt water the clones for at least 1/2 week just use a mister a spray the leaves and a little on the top of the soil. But you don't want to wash that valueble rooting gel /powder of your plant for 1st week just mist.

It is a good idea to soak the medium well before placing the clone in the medium. I use small 2" peat pots for clones with a very airy 1/2 perlite 1/2 Sunshine #1 mix. This method works well for me. I use a chopstick to make the hole and the moist medium usually holds the shape of the hole until the clone is inserted. Then gently push the medium around the stem to close the hole.

I almost forgot - I only add water to my clones when they feel bone dry. That is usually 4-5 days after cloning. I just add a few drops around the stem to keep it from drying out. I mist heavily during the first week and by day 10 they are ready to repot.

The misting will keep plant alive while it developes roots. If you where to keep medium wet the stem can rot. So I agree with Above.
