Washington retail shop receiving cannabis from Oregon?

So lets assume the $250 application fee, and $1000 has been payed to become a legal pot shop selling cannabis in the state of Washinton. Are you required to get it from a registered producer in the state of Washington, or can a donation be accepted from a medical grow in Oregon? I'm guessing this is going to be closely monitored, right?

I have always heard crossing state lines was a no no.
However, Im recently noticing a few bold
souls openly donating to either with id and recomendation.

Not sure if law changed or a loophole was found or if they are just crazy.

so if your talking about I-502 (Retailer) then you should read all the links on the W.A. L.C.B. web sight before doing anything. the important stuff your looking for is listed in
Initiative 502 Adopted Rules
section under the rules link, or you could click here

https://lcb.app.box.com/adopted-rules
https://lcb.app.box.com/adopted-rules
but in short any purchase of marajuana from a unothorized source will result in a immediate loss of licence from the W.A. L.C.B. and the seed to sale protocals are spelled out pretty clear in the document and all the records accross the 3 stages (produce, processor, retailer) have to match and are subject to randome audets and a 24-72 hour hold time on all shipments/transactions for inspection by a W.A. L.C.B. officer. so cooking the books is ill advised.

hope this helps

As long as you have a WA state medical recommendation, you could sell brick weed from Mexico to dispensaries if you wanted to. People bring in weed from Cali and OR all the time - not legal, but absolutely no way to tell where it came from..

i am not a lawyer (but i play one one tv). that aside i am a resident of WA and have been familiarizing myself with the laws here as i am currently throwing my hat in for a production license here in the evergreen state

there are currently 2 systems for the sale of marijuana in WA state and they are segregated from one another. the medical side came first and yes under the med if you have a script then you can sell whatever you want to the med dispensary. the second is for recreational use. in WA unlike CO the chain of seed to sale is produce to processor to retailer. requiring a license for each and there are rules to how the three partys interact with each other.

so there can be two different answers to this question

if he is a med dispensary then yes he can purchase marijuana from any source with a valid WA state med script.

if he is a recreational dispensary then he has to fallow all seed to sale protocol laid out by the WA state liquor control board which means that he can only buy from a source who has a valid WA LCB processors license and will have to pay a transaction tax of 25 % on the purchase

again i am not a lawyer (but i play one one tv).

good luck on you business venture
