Washington lawmakers propose allowing pot growing at home

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - Washington lawmakers have proposed a bill that would allow anyone 21 years old or older to grow as many as six marijuana plants at home.

Anyone think we will have problems passing this?

no none at all. sounds awesome! I wasn't going to renew my Med Card when it expires this year, so this will give me even more peace of mind. If this passes I look forward to sharing my knowledge with the community and my cancer patients in a more open way. It will be very rewarding to FINALLY talk to my patients about the medicinal value of marijuana in a more relaxed manner. We are finally letting go of fears of the plant, and im glad im living and working in a state where we can make a tremendous impact in the legalization of mj... and to live where we we can show the world how we can do this in a positive fashion.

I feel the same way! This would be big, Oregon gets to grow 6 plants, Colorado also now it's Washingtons turn!!

Can't help but see this as part of the snowball effect.....CO blew the whole issue wide open.

I only hope if this happens that we don't get people growing out males and letting their pollen float about. I would be pissed if my plants ended up with seeds because of neighbors who don't know what they're doing.

I am sure some will want to produce seeds for the future or whatever. The more growing in an area, the greater chance of cross pollination. In many places it is almost impossible for out door heirloom garden plants to be grown without getting jacked up due to someone also growing a GMO type in the neighborhood.

I'm disgusted that it wasn't written in from the beginning. Legalization! -but only for corporate America... how is this NOT fascist?

Yes, I'm a Colorado resident. Legalization here means exactly that. Including growing your own!

I see peeps doing gorilla grows everywhere. If they have fems, they'll through them out, if not they will toss what they do have.For the caring gardener it'll be indoor or green house.
