Walmart $10 grow lights !!!

Just posted a pic of my 4 day old babies under the walmart lights. I say for sprouting plants, theses are the best lights Ive used so far but Im gonna get some 6500k cfl"s to complimen themt when I get serious about it. hee.

For 1 thing they are T-8s with a 7800 k spectrum so stop callen em T-12s !! You have to take the protective cover off the light dumass lol Ive posted a pice of my new babies under 4 lights. Less than a week and they look good to me take a look. And Im only talking for vegging in a small closet or cabinet. Some people dont have much room, like me, and have to do stealth grows.

My take on it is getting better lights, but obviously not everyone can do this. But as far as OP goes, you have bought 4 of these $10 lights (not including tax) and you are planning on buying 4 more. Thats $80. For $20 more you could get somewhere from a 250-400 watt hps for your plants. So for this situation you ended up spending about the same amount as good light but have cheap lights to show for it. This is where I think a little planning on some patience will pay off. If you have money flowing in just wait for a little while.

I can vouch for this guy(or girl) I've seen these same lights at the wal-mart around my way. They definitely got my attention but I do my thing outdoors so it's something I'm looking at for the future. Looks to be a good buy.....but so does everything else at wal-mart so we'll see.

LA Woman fro attitude seedbank 8 days old. 4 walmart 7800k 24" lights. But UPDATE. !! Walmart now sells a 4 ft 2 bulb fixture without the bulbs for 15 bucks. And 2 lights are 10 bucks. They work awesome . Im using a 6500k and a 7800k aqua/plant tube. So instead of over 40 bucks, you get the same coverage and more wattage for just 25 bucks plus tax. Thank you walmart. I love you.

Well i just bought the Walmart $9.99 48" T8 that offers 30% more light and lumens when using 48" 32w T8 bulbs, Look great nice and Bright im using dual cool, natural light bulbs 32w - 2700 Lumens - 6500k color - i just planted 9 Feminized Blue Mystics and 16 Freebie seeds from Nirvana Seeds, Im gonna start a grow journal so check it out

Okay if u mean the ones labled grow lights dont wast your money just buy the 2ft 2 lamp shop fixture that they sell for 12 dollars . the power consumption on these is low as well .and u get 2 lamps instead of one .I used a 4 ft fixture t8 lamps for seedlings and early veg.

it doesnt it just that flourcents are brighter looking than a incadescent bulb .cfl are rated this way ex. 13 w cfl is as bright as an 60 w regular light bulb is all that means .for plantgrowing it doesnt mean anything because we dont use reg light bulbs it a comparison for the household consumer.
I think that guy was using such a reference.

That 30 % brighter is in referance to what used to be the standard t 12 a t8 is yes 30 brighter than a t 12.It doesnt mean that a t8 bulb is 30 % brighter just because its in that fixture!

When you say "grow more seriously".... I'm doing this in a small closet space with 3 or 4 plants. I don't want to grow enough to sell to my friends big time or anything, just enough to get me wonderfully blazed for a few months. Would you still hold to the opinion that the Wallmart lamps are insufficient? Is the high significantly different?

Yep CFL's suck, that's why there are a lot of people producing perfectly fine buds with them.

1/2 gallon of dirt, Miracle Grow Bloom Booster, 152w of CFL's = 3+ oz.

Apparently some of you haven't ever heard of "TO EACH THEIR OWN" why come in someones thread and beat them down because you don't agree. Way to be a prick.
