I've never brewed a tea with rock dust before. So I can't say. I just topdress. It's supposed to be soluble. I'd imagine you could use it in a tea.

volcanic rock dust and or diatomaceous earth (DE)... should be avoided at all costs
if you intend to smoke that bud in the coming months,
D=earth once in your lungs is like millions of tiny razor blades ripping you lungs apart with each toke,
the KGB used the same weapon in WW2 with German spies quit successfully,
by mixing it in their cigarettes, here you do the same but with bud,
sure you may wash your buds, but truly.. don't risk the horrid consequences
Iron lungs are these days in medical museums ..stick to Neem Meal

diatomaceous earth is silica. We're using rock dust from a volcano and glacier. We put it in the soil. Not on the plants like de. If you inhale perlite, guano, rock dust, neem meal, bone meal you can get sick and / or lung issues. I wear a painters mask when I mix soil and do transplants.

You can keep the DE, but I absolutely want basalt in my soil.

I've reasonated info on onyx. If you place the stone in the soil, it helps the plants grow with more vigor.

I haven't tried it yet because I have yet to find real onyx. But that info came to me when I was relaxing near my plants and hitting the bong.

It could have been the plants shooting me that info, I have no idea but I Plan on performing a controlled test when I can get my hands on the onyx.

Edit: Can it really fuck you up like you said? I usually only foliar feed during veg...[/QUOTE]

Buddy IMHO, rock dust don't burn up when you toke,
yes most of it will fall of, but it WILL build up in you soft spongy lungs and you will have lungs like a coal miner ..lol
besides it will block the stomata of the leaves over time, making the plant have leaves of a coal miner plant ...lol
avoid... but yes mix to the soil or use perlite

Wow. Thanks, man. That makes entirely too much sense. I feel like sort of a dumbshit now. I fucking love this place (when I'm paying attention) I still get to learn stuff.

@Pinworm I think the real question is why would you want to spray rock dust on your plants? If you are looking for a specific fix lmk, there are probably other materials we can add to the foliar.

Of course, you don't want to be spraying much of anything once the pistils start popping out in flower.

Peace!

Yea, what Vos was saying makes total sense. Was a recipe I picked up from what I suppose (looking back now) is sort of an unreliable source. Hindsight. Was a super tiny amount, and now that I'm actually thinking about it, completely unnecessary. Lucky I only tried it out during veg. *wipes forhead*

I never brew a tea without it. The finer the dust, the easier it is to dilute in water. I have noticed that the plants have been
more responsive when i have used the rock dust so it stayed. The dust actually give the beneficial microbes a surface to
"latch" on to and provide trace elements like Silica. I have been on a rock dust trip lately so I have 5 types that I use.

Azomite A-Z Of Minerals Including Trace Elements http://www.azomite.com/resources/coa.pdf
Agrowinn Volcanic Rock Dust http://www.fertilizeronline.com/rockdust.php
Cascade Minerals http://cascademineralsnw.com/application.html

Soft Rock Phosphate http://drearth.net/products/single-ingredient-fertilizers/soft-rock-phosphate-0-2-0/

A TBS of each in a 4 gallon brew (5 gallon bucket) once a week is the application rate I am using at the moment. I then dilute my
tea 2:1 with water before use.

Hope this helps.
