Vivitrol

Do any patients here have experience with vivitrol for alcoholism or narcotic addiction? I would appreciate hearing your experiences- especially in relation to cravings and potential problems (such as painful injuries while under narcotic blockaid with vivitrol).

Please post or PM me- no specific medical information or identification please.

I pray this is better than suboxin. The people I have seen on that are in bad shape.
Yeah my uncle was on that stuff and it would make it to where he could barely talk or do anything that required coordination sometimes. That shit is bad news

Actually this is more like depo-narcan (extended release over 30 days). It is a narcotic blocker, not a narcotic at all. It works by preventing any narcotics from having an effect, with a goal of preventing people from taking narcotics at all.

As far as the comments on suboxone, clearly it wasn't being used properly. There is no reason to use more than 2 strips a day, you cannot use valium like meds with it, and you should be weaned off as quickly as possible. Most problems reported involved folks getting 3-4 strips a day for 'pain control' from doctors with very little training beyond the 8 hours on line required to get the license.
