Very, VERY unusual stuff going on..

Anybody on that i can start a conversation with? Some crazy shit happening with a seedling.

Probably a better idea. So I germinated a feminized autoflower seed and planted it 2 days ago. The seedling broke the soil yesterday. The odd thing was that along with the cotyledons the root grew upwards out of the soil with the seed casing attached. i pushed some soil over the root and hoped for the best. The stem continued to grow out with the cotyledons atop it, but the root section continued to pop up (with the seed casing still attached, which i found odd because typically it encases the leaves, not the roots). Here is where it gets crazy... I decide to gently remove the seed casing from the root section before re-burying it and to my great surprise there was another set of cotyledons! What in the actual fuck is going on?

yep twins. ive had twins 3 or 4 times now. but they always root and shed the shell just fine

2 seeds 1 hole.

I didn't want to push them apart (trying not fuck with it..) but you get the idea....

Not at all. Same normal grow ahead of you. A 2 for 1 is never bad.

So I don't have to separate them? Or transplant one? Isn't 2 plants in a 3 gallon pot going to be kind of crowded? Or do they share a root system?

2 plants one pot crowded? Not necessarily, depends on how big they go. There is a grower around here that puts 2 in 1 pot on purpose and says the yield increases.

I'd leave them be and not try to transplant one out, you could damage 1 or both. Grow them out and see what happens, you might learn something new. Live and learn.

Yeah I definitely did not want to attempt a transplant as it is an auto... worse comes to worse I guess I can clip the smaller of the two if it looks like it's not going to make it....

I had a pair come from one seed, I left them together till one seemed stronger. Then I culled one and veg/flowered the other.

Twins aren't that uncommon. Separate them sooner rather than later. Let us know what sexes you end up with. Also what seed breeder are they from and what strain?

They are feminized autos from nirvana. The one that went twin on me was the bubblicious. I'm not certain I will be able to separate them one way or the other because after a little investigation they appear to share a root system. Can't be totally certain though.

doubt they share a root system, just intertwined. the stronger one will suck the weaker to near death. if u can't separate, at some point, choose one then sever the other imo.

Like I said... couldn't see clearly as didn't want to dig to hard with something so young, it just looked like a single root system... thanks for the advice everyone!

That is what is weird. . After I was told what was happening I did some research and that seems to be the norm... These are pretty much exactly the same size so far. I assume that will change.
