Vertical T5

What's up guy's. I was wondering has anyone tried to take the reflector off of these and hang them vertical. I was thinking this way I can grow 4ft trees and not waste light. X | X ...X equal plant | equal light. Thanks in advance RIU members.

Oh ! That might work. ...or fall apart. Never seen that done before but I've seen it done from scratch like getting ends and a ballast and putting it together

You could easily rig it up from custom parts... just build a simple wood frame and run the bulb-sockets down each side. Real easy.

I encourage you to try it. I have considered it. Instead what I"ve done so far is an alternate form of vertical T5's, using them as sidelighting earlier on and then this round I added vscrog nets to the sides in an experimental op. Not trees..just 4 ft gals at the finish line.

well, for t-5's, 4' is a tree. they don't penetrate the canopy much...

it`ll work but as far as the out come who knows. back in the old days i seen a few people that leaned t12`s shop lights against the wall with the plants under them, it worked but it didn`t yield much.
