Vero 10 or 18 Height limited

I would say I have 2ft of vertical space from the top of the soil to my light

If anyone can recommend the vero 10 or 18 and what to drive them at in order to maximize vertical growth I'd really appreciate it.

I'll let you have the joy of picking out the driver(s), as that is one of the most complicated aspects of DIY COB builds but as far as recommending whether to choose the Vero 10 or 18 for your space, the Vero 10 will provide adequate penetration and spread (depending on how many you get), all the while keeping your plant's canopy cool.

I'd also recommend running the Veros soft (300~700mA) to lessen chances of bleaching (which happened to me once with Vero 18s running @1050mA (4in. away from bud)).

^^^^How was your airflow? I keep my 18s running at 900mA 4 inches or so from my ladies. I think proper airflow helps here. Keep the plant moving and all. But at about 3 inches they'll scorch and bleach leaves no problem. I haven't seen a bleached bud in a while. My ViparA300 used to do that all the time.

How tall do you want the plants to grow? You may need a reflector or even multiple LEDs for real big suckers.

Heh I had my Crowns running at that 4in. distance (direct airflow onto canopy), something I've since opted out of (now equipped with Arctic Alpine 11's).

It may have been 3in. or 2in. or 1in. but it was enough to turn a little bud into albino candy! :weed:

It's a habit I picked up from trying to get Chinese budget panels to grow really dense weed. I've been meaning to change things around but my density, yield and quality are so off the hook after going with the Vero 18s over the CREE bulbs I used to use I'm leaving them like this for a bit more. You're flooding the canopy with light and the plants react :).

Hmm so what do you guys think of running 8 4000k vero 10s at 350ma for a 2 x 1.5 x 3 (LWH) box?
I'm going off this graph to justify the 4000K, anything else seems like a waste and I can always throw in some Deep red and royal blue?

4 plants tote DWC, thats why I was thinking 8 vero 10s for good coverage.

Can anyone recommend some decent drivers?

@350ma. you would be at 73 watts. A little low.
How about 9 Vero 13 @ 350ma. and 3 Mean Well APC-35-350 drivers?
99 watts! Perfect.
1 or 2 plant SCROG.
DWC may be too tall for your space.

Yeah thatd work too a bit more expensive... Would 73 watts really be too low for a 3ft area? especially if I plan to throw in some luxeon ES or Cree XML2?

Ah thank you
Depending on the efficiency of the lighting your using, ~24W per square foot may be a little low or just right. If your using Veros and are running them around 35% efficiency, then ~24W per square foot will do just fine.
