Vero 10 5000k Veg Light: diy step-by-step build

How many vero 10 at what amperage did you use to flower? In how much space? I'm interested.

I was looking at some older cree I think go up to 60w but run at 10w
Cxa2530 per supra recommendation.

I had read a post about stacking drivers, I may check that as a form for dimming as it sounds like the high power drivers get expensive

Bonjour
@Abiqua sorry but did you say that your V10 could grow 2 feet plant!?
Do you run V10 @350mA?
How far from the plants?
I ask cause I plan to build a V13 @350mA 5000ºk vegg pannel but if V10 are good enough for 1foot tall plant...
How many V10 on an hlg-120-350b? (Is it 26V@350?...so 16!?)
Have a great day ★

I thought I had replied Void, my apologies.....

I was using 4x Vero 10 3500k in 1.4 sq. ft....and at about 300mA of power.....26 watt draw minus fans.... Terrible example really to compare a bigger space....but the I have had the diode 24" above the dirt during flowering and didn't notice much of change in growth....@400-450ppfd

The stacking drivers thread is an interesting one [over a year old eh' if memory serves me right maybe even closer to 2? :)] , but I haven't really thoroughly investigated how to achieve this and if it is Completely safe....those are my only concerns...otherwise, it may be good info that hasn't been dug up in a while too...Kudos :peace:

Ok...1st, sometimes I get a little "excited" and maybe I am too general in my descriptions....

Here is my "fuel" cut I have been working with recently...20 days of veg [cutting] and already 11" from the soil under 300mA driven Vero 5000K.....about 14" from the diodes to the soil surface on EVERYTHING i start....

This cut is sitting currently about 3" from the diodes and has no problems....its gonna be a momma I think, usually I don't let them get this tall...but this cut is a BEAST....especially under the CXA3070's :)

I think that yes a Vero 10 could veg a 24" plant given the right time and strain......:joint:

From seeds and slow growing strains may be the exception......especially for the 60 day rule....

.......My blackberry kush would not get anywhere near 2 feet in 60 days in veg.....I would be lucky to get 30 cm's of growth in that time period :).....Very classic indica, I wouldn't say Afghanica per se, because it seems to be mold resistant...maybe Iranian or Turkmenistan roots :peace:

I don't know if the driver stacking ever got its own thread or not, I just remember it tossed out there in some thread with supra saying that's how he dims a house light he set up with leds.

I was looking at for to five of the others at 10 watts each per square for so that should definitely work.

matbe you are right, I was thinking he made a separate thread with a few replies....but I definitely remember it too...

4-5 per each sq ft is exactly what I would recommend...I have always taken heed of churchhaze's advice from the past....14 PAR watts/sq ft or more.....will most likely let you grow plants up to 3 ft tall if you have the space....strain dependent of course, but I believe it. :peace:

My space turned out to be 30" x 21.5" and 30" tall. Much bigger than I was thinking.

I'll probably start with it for seed, cloning, veg. When time to flower pull the clones out into a smaller cab and add extra lights

Still a decent sized space....with a roof height made for Led's :)

I wonder if 50 grams/sq ft is possible :)

Well I had thought the area was smaller and was going to be just for moms and cloning. Had to planned to drop three of the vero 10 @ 8w in it for veg. Guess I need to put 4 or 5 in it.

1g per watt
50g sq ft
50w / 7w = 8 vero 10 per square foot if I do fairly well.

I need new heatsink to run mine any harder. Well have to get new heatsink. Shipping charges are killing me all over the place

I think you need to try 3 1st....especially if you really want to and save a buck...I only suggest guidelines....so three with proper spacing might be fine....

Just thinking out loud....Good space for mom/veg/clones...lots of room :)

3 for vegging? I have 7 that are just sitting around collecting dust so no expense of buying any until flower. Which unless I can run two 50w cxa3070 in there I have to get a lot more of the vero anyway.

I'm not worried about the cost of an extra couple watts either. Especially if I can get 50g / sq ft.
200g when it's $15 a gram here for the highest quality that comes through here, still crap. Better quality and save a boatload of money.

I miss growing the plant, can't wait to get going again

Bonjour
Why do you have expensive shipping charges?
And do you expect 50g sq/ft in soil?
You will need 50w sq/ft!
Let us know if you aim this target!
I consider myself to buy Vero29 @2100mA instead of cxb 3590 @1400mA if they grow about the same gr/w!
Have a great day ★

Expensive is relative and all, just get spoiled with Amazon free shipping.

I need a replacement fan for my arctic alpine 11 plus heatsink. The fan is $3, the shipping is $14. I bought the heatsink for $12 last year with free Amazon shipping.

Heatsink usa is $25-30. For a couple small light pieces.

I was looking at buying fish and shipping is $70.

I'm not expecting 50g/sqft but it's good to have a goal and a dream.

I grow in coco coir.

I'll start a thread and send you a link and we can pick up the conversation. I've hijacked this one plenty already

That was my supposition Jacob....even V10's with enough intensity could possibly achieve this...theory only....
ooh guys...both @littlejacob and @Voidling .....Have you both read @MrFlux 's thread? I would urge you too if you haven't a great cab grow with V10's....

Please start your own thread and continue to keep hijacking this one too!!!! :) , I prefer the knowledge base and sharing it and keeping it alive....

Although I have been a little salty lately...especially towards LED salesman :peace:

Thanks for the heads up on flux's thread.

I've recently made an acquaintance that had a full machine shop, unfortunately he can't exercise aluminum for heat sinks though. But can easily machine polish one down for me easily. I'd been wanting to learn to make nice cases like stardustsailor's.

It's hard to properly design and test lights to sell because the technology evolves so fast.

I'd be quite happy if money, time, and legality weren't an issue for my experimentation.

Bonjour
If I put a cob under a solar pannel is it going to produce electricity?
I was thinking of reflective solar pannels instead of mylar on the box wall!!! No losses...Maybe in 2030!?!?
Maybe just enough to run the fans...lights on/fans on and vice versa!
I smoke too much...I know
Have a great day ★
