Ventilation VS Air Cooled Lights?

yo tiz what where your results with those two fans?

I ordered a light/ballast, but the reflector/ballast were both damaged in shipping, you can see where it all got hit so I have to have the ballast warrantied and to be 100% honest I might just throw my box up on craigslist once I get it finished cause it has been nothing but a huge pain in the ass trying to get it all going. I'm gonna still finish it but I need to get whatever I'm gonna use as the screen for the SCROG and wait for the new ballast. I was gonna do aero/hydro but with my box being 2'x3' and only 4' high I just don't have the room to install a reservoir unless I did an external one and that kinda goes against trying to make this compact to fit under the shelf in my closet. I may not even finish constructing the box though, maybe I'll convert it to organizing my power tools in my garage before I start drilling intakes/exhausts so it isn't a total waste. Or I will just finish constructing it and sell it using that $ to buy better equipment like a smaller digital ballast, smaller fans etc... and more thought into where it will go, what size, and how it will work etc when I build my new and improved box.

Don't give up hope man. You have gone to the effort and that space is fine to grow in.

My first grow was in a 2' x 2' cupboard and i grew a sativa in it lol.

Don't waste all the money and time you spent cos you got disheartened.

yah but I really wanna do aero/hydro and I just don't think I have the room in that box unless I do an external reservoir.. I actually have more room than that too... I just need to do some reorganizing to see what i'm working with. I have 2 fans, a light, a bake a round for my cool tube, the DIY carbon filter stuff, ducting, and even the pvc for my what I thought was gonna be aero/hydro setup but I didn't take the reservoir into account... o well, either way... I think it might be best for me to just do a round 2.. I hate half assing things you know? just knowing I could do something better... if I do use this box it will "have" to be in soil... not that that's a bad thing... but kinda loses it's "wow" factor lol.. i just think making it hydro would be fun. which in the end there is only 2 reasons for even attempting this.. for fun is the most important one, and the second is just knowing the herb I smoke is clean/pure instead of some of the garbage u see in the streets.

And you could smoke any strain you wanted, and it would pay for itself after the first harvest.

If you built a sealed room with just intake and out-take there would be no smell due to carbon filter and it could be made very stealthy.

eh, i don't plan on selling any to pay for the $ invested (the smoke itself will pay me back on money saved in the long run).. that would kinda go against why I want to build a cabinet. I do have a couple go to guys that have their heads on straight etc.. however they are dealers nonetheless, and for all I know they could be being watched or whatever and they see me go in/out regularly etc.. I just don't want to have to worry about my privacy and growing my own behind closed doors would be the best bet.. I think you are at risk more doing a deal with somebody than growing plants in your home if you take the right precautionary steps and you have a good location that allows it.


that is assuming that is what you meant by pay for itself, if you mean pay for itself in personal smoke to replace the $ invested, then you are right but I still wanna make sure when I do it, I do it right.. when I get my new ballast I will figure out what im gonna do
