Veg till she can't veg no more!!

So yeah... I had been toying with this plant for some time in my other journal. She's got to the time where she needs her own column!

So she's a complete unknown, I guessed she might be some form of sour bomb (tis what the person that gave me the clone eluded to) as I got her as a little runty clone.
I cloned her from cutting direct into soil. No rooting hormone/gel or anything. Just domed her for a week with a coke bottle. :D

Wanted to put her in my tent after my autos were done and just veg the shit out of her until she takes over the 3x3 space.
600 watt hps.
15 litre airpot.
Bio Bizz nutes.
Foliar fed with Bio Weed - over did it and gave her some random spotting of burning so backed off with that.
Soil/perlite mix.
20/4 for veg thus far.
Scrog net will be going up over the coming weeks.
I'll sling some pics of progress in for your amusement.

Thinking of letting her branch out for the next week or 2 then top everything and tie everything back and let her grow for another 2 - 4 weeks after.
Expect by that point she'll be a monster.

Gimme some advice? Am I pushing her too much? Am I taking the piss vegging a plant like this for soo long?
It's all just an experiment to me for now.

1st February 2016 - She's clinging to life!!
Runty day 1.jpg
21st February 2016 - The force is strong in this one! (20 days)

22nd February 2016 - Gave her some bondage (21 days)
20160222_091610.jpg

28th February 2016 - I think she likes being tied up!! (27 days)
20160228_091809.jpg

5th March 2016 - Decided to untie and stake her out to do less damage to branches (33 days)
20160305_193744.jpg

9th March 2016 - More LST! Running out of stakes! (37 days)
20160309_162241.jpg

27th March 2016 - Stakes don't reach the soil any more - use em as weights instead!! (55 days)
20160327_143719.jpg
Same time as previous pic - Stem growth is sturdy!
20160327_143729.jpg
Same time as previous 2 pics - Bushy as now!
20160327_143736.jpg

So am I taking the piss vegging her for another 4 - 6 weeks? I want her to fill the tent with a nice even canopy. Light is as low as I can get it currewntly. So got a good 5 foot of room to take it up. Also only got it dialed in at 400watt currently.
Give me some pointers guys.

2nd April 2016 - 61 days on.

Scrog net in place ... letting the canopy fill out now and see where we go. Set the scrog 14inches above soil level.
Should give enough room to lollipop the underneath and defolilate anything blocking potential bud sites.
Shes around 4inches away from the net now. So will leave her to it. :)

Did you undo the ties you had on it originally? And how sure are you its female? Just wondering but either way I would veg it until it almost fills the screen to your liking, not by pre-determining how long before hand. Especially if you don't know the strain or if it isn't a clone of another plant you've seen through flowering. She could be a late bloomer (no pun intended)! But that's me and I'm not on a schedule - I only grow for personal use so I can afford (and enjoy) to experiment.

I have undone original ties and repositioned new ones. Going to release all the ties in a week or so once I'm satisfied she won't bunch up (she started to over night when I released the ties before).
I'm fairly confident she's a she as it was a cutting from a feminised seed, mother. Could all go tits, but I'd say it's a safe bet.

I'm unsure how she's going to stretch, so I've given myself 5 foot to work with in that event.

I'm growing for fun, I have ran autos before and this is my first true experiment of a non auto and I wanted to scrog her out to see what she could do in the space.

Cheers for posting! :)

So nearly a month has gone by.
Lets show some transformation pics!

April 24th 2016 - Day 83. Flipped to flower today!
Removed a lot of under carriage leaves days earlier hence the crap on the floor.
Needs cleaning up tbh.
20160424_115425.jpg

Added a home made drip feeder hooked up to a small submersible pump in a 25l barrel on a timer to come on 4 times a day for 15mins. I'm lazy. She gets 25 litres of very low nutes every week now. 20160424_115434.jpg
1st May 2016 - 90 days in. Day 7 since flip to flower.. 20160501_135703.jpg

I'm pretty happy with how much she's filled out. Unsure how much more stretch to expect from her, she's clearly gone on a massive growth spurt. Canopy is really nice and level, am good for her to stretch another 3 foot before I'd be concerned.

What do we think?

Looking great man, from the look of those leaves theirs certainly atleast some sativa influence in that plant, so I'd expect a reasonable bit more stretch. Your at 7 days now? So I'd say at least another week of intense upwards growth followed by atleast another week of slower but still intense stretch before slowing right down and concentrating on bud growth.

But your looking fine man, just keep tucking and filling your screen :)

She was a bit of an experiement from day one. I took a cutting of the mother and just stuck it straight into dirt and domed her. Amazing how she's tranaformed.
Appreciate your feedback though, when you say keep tucking. Do you mean pushing the upwards branches down still? Worried about damaging them and not getting enough upwards growth for colas.

During the stretch phase, ie the next 2-3 weeks, every time a shoot is poking out the screen far enough, tuck in down and into the next segment to fill your screen. If this is your first grow you will be amazed just how fast it grows during stretch phase.

First grow with no auto. Shes been vegging for 83 days. So I expected her to get big.

I'd say I have a good 5 inches of growth through the screen currently. You'd tuck that down?

I followed your advice and tucked everything last night. As shown in my sig pic.

Canopy is really filled in now, so hopefully it's the right call to make. Hoping 1 - 2 weeks of stretch will balance things up.

I tuck branches for the first 2 weeks or so. When the stretching slows I stop. The stretching doesn't however, so over the next 2-4 weeks you'll get branches growing up above the screen giving you the typical Scrog look. But for the first 4-5 weeks (estimating here) it looks like a green table top.
Don't forget you can tie branches to the screen instead of tucking under, if it's too big, and I've woven some braches into the screen as well when needed.

Pics are same grow early flower, mid flower and week 8. The screen never moved, and by 2nd tucking was over.

Looking good, you will probably keep scrogging after this as your gonna like the end product (+ yield ).. ;-)
Goodluck and happy growing,

Looking great man, glad she stretched to fill your screen nicely for you! It should be easy enough to get her back to health pretty quickly, make sure your PH is ok and a good feed will see her right. Will be keeping an eye to see how you do!

She stretched nicely. A good feeding is not cutting it for her atm.

Am too embarassed to put a pic up of her atm as shes shedding leaves like shes alopecia in plant form!
I joked about heavy defoliation, she's basically doing it her self!

Hoping I get a head of it soon, buds are filling out nicely, so am not too concerned. Just reckon a week of her slowly starving to death is going to take more than a week to get her back to health.
