You killed a plant with a cfl... ? ummmmmmm i don't think soo...

picture me please....

Even if a cfl is touching a fan leaf, only the spot where the leaf is touching the light will die... the rest of the leaf will still thrive... this is how LITTLE heat, these lights give off..

cheers
I MIGHT have exaggerated on the plant word. It was a seedling :(
IT WAS SO YOUNG!!!
Toasted the little leaves and it just refused to grow any more.

i only have a few plants why so many lights....20 is alot and i dont have that many light units

Hey breeze... a cfl (in general) is only great for flowering when it is 1 inch away from your foliage... and good at about 1-4 inches and useless beyond 4-6 inches from your foliage..

If you have aplant that is 6 inches tall and it is flowering, I will probably get to 12-30 inches tall by the 3 -4th week of flowering.. Buy the tine it is this tall, you will want tohave it surrounded from top to bottom with 43 watt CFls... probably 4-6 lights would give you a great harvest of 2-4 ounces...

love

Yes that one bulb will do you fine for awhile, make sure it is the correct spectrum, you want it to be 6500k "Day light", and just like GK said many times already, keep it as close as possible with out the bulb touching the plant. Also, keep the bulb horizontal to the plant. Give it light, food, air, and alittle love and you will do fine. I just hope it is a female! GL and be patient..There are many things happening under the soil that you can't see....

foilage= Leaf

I have the exact same bulb for my flowering chamber. Your gonna need more lights man. and separate the two plants on the right. 1 pot 1 pot plant. And that light is indeed 2700k.

That looks like a 27k, not a 65k. it would be best to have 1 light over each pot.
get the bulb horizontal!
Replace the foil with Mylar, or Paint walls white, or get white plastic sheeting.
the light schedule's is up to you, read all you can and make a decision.
I am not a dirt grower, so I won't go there!
GL, and keep asking good questions, but the trick is to listen..

Yeah man, I Don't see why you would not be able to change, just don't switch back and forth. I would wait for someone like Mogie to respond, but, I don't see why you could not change over at this point. My personal opinion on this matter of 6 hours of down time is that I think certain strains do better with different conditions, and of course you can save a few bucks by shutting down for 6 hours of the day. That is the short of it!

use 3 gallon containers

lower the light

add another 43 watt CFL... ideally, by the time you switch to 12/12 (flowering), which should be when you have 4-5 nodes, you will have 8 - 43 watt CFLs surrounding these 3 plants ... all within 1 inch of the foliage..

Each plant needs it's own 3 gallon container....

don't let your soil get soggy..
