Brother we all been there don't listen if they say they just started growing good herb. I been at it about 4 years now and I still learn, tweak and f&ck up still. That is why I grow mostly for relaxation and something that interests me and of course I get smoke.
Also don't take what someone says as "gospel" most of the advice will be it works for me but does it for you? I do things that work great for me but others frown upon, does that make it wrong? Hell no, do what works for you and your growing environment and style.
Oh and the biggest jump for me when I started to feel like I got this, was when I started keeping track of almost everything. I am anal, but you will get the point. I track plants ppm, ph, nutrient soup, height, root development etc.. on a daily basis and adjust most of my buckets. I mean "knowing" what is working and what you "think" is working will save you months of head banging. Keeping some sort of log will help you do that and shave months off your learning curve.

started my vanilla kush grow, had to cut the other grow down as wife was bitching that i was taking up to many closets. and that i had the whole house smelling like weed.lol. so i'm drying last grow and here we go on another. only showed one sprout, the other is coming along,but had problems. one didnt make it so i sprouted the one you see to replace it. i know what i did wrong so no need to show it until i've got them grown out a little more. the only thing different is i'm useing cooler's this time. temps at 65 in the rez. and 88 in the closet. ph is 5.8 no nutes yet.
My 400w is in a 3x3 tent, but I prolly coulda got away with a 4x4 so I had a little extra room to maneuver and whatnot. What kind of tent were you thinking? Be careful not to get the generic ones that emit those toxic gases from the PVC material in the fabric too! I'm thinkin bout swappin mine out for a 4x4 Secret Jardin...I hear they're nice and sturdy...great airflow and the price came down on em a little but I'm not sure. Great investment tho.....and one last thing....dont forget about covering your netpots brutha 
Seedlings above it so darken those biznatches out and your PH and water temps should stay pretty solid. Stoked for you man...looks like DWC is treatin you right these days eh? lulz
