using R O water

I just installed a reverse osmoses water unit and was wondering ,for my seedlings and clones should i be adding anything to the water when using ro water ?
Before I was using ph tap water for seedlings and clones , but now my town is adding cloramine to the water so I had to get a R O unit .
I understand that the ro unit removes a lot of things, so is there anything I should be adding back to the water or just use it as it is ? (p.h. to 5.

you'll need cal/mag occaisionally

you'll prolly need to get some Cal Mag.

i have a RO unit aswell,and i love it!

during veg i add 5ml to about 8 gallons of water..in my case seems to do the trick

Hiway: you might want to talk to your nutes manufacturer or your local hydro store. These guys are giving you good advice to add calcium and magnesium but that's why I use Technaflora's, "Recipe for Success." It's very user friendly and they have a formula to use from seed planting or cloning to pre-harvest and as long as I've followed their directions I've had no problems. I hope that helps.HSA

yea my well water is at 1,300 ppm..very high in iron.

the RO brings it down to 50 ppm,and thats acceptable to me.

i had mine in for 6 months now,and its still at 50 ppm.

i just purchased another set of filters for it for when they finally go bad.

I have bought at least 20 from them, they rock, always go to weekly sales in the left corner to find best deals

I bought mine from home depot not much of a deal but i needed one due to the wonderful city making me healthy adding cloramine to the water which will not evaporate out by letting it sit . i paid 300.00 for a 5 stage unit .so far I have found that it is very touchy adjusting p.h. , but I am getting used to it

DTIS: thanks for the link. I've been looking at the local hydro stores and their offerings are almost twice as expensive for everything. I like the back flow feature to extend the life of the filters. What about availability of filters and membrane locally? I saved it to my lap top and now it gives me something to compare to when I shop on. Thanks again. HSA

i'm sure one can pick up spare filters at a local hardware store..i ordered mine from the same Ebay dealer..i paid $38.50 including shipping for 4 filters.

i didn't think it was a bad deal at all.
