Using plants to help grow cannabis

Hey there, Im going organic and want to grow a couple other plants (such as aloe) so I can use them for my grow/compost/worm bin.

Ive read about comfrey, stinging nettle, aloe, possibly mint?

Can these grow decent under cfl? What and how do you guys go about growing these plants? And what site online would you recommend?

do you have experience outdoor gardening, cfl's shld work fine. there is a gardening section on riu -

most of those plants can be found in any gardening or home center, lowes n home depot. Or order seeds! aloe is often in the garden section of a lg. super market. stinging nettle grows in wild in my region, but a pain to gather. have yet to use, do u make a tea with it?

I thought nettles was for tea. I have nothing worthy of true experience, I have 3 harvests under my belt thats it. Im in midwest, so it'll be indoors for now under cfl or T5.


Do you grow organically?

Look at link, it says stinging nettles is a good companion plant to mj (maby you know already.) Itd be interesting to try some indoors, itd work in a smart pot but a flower bed would be great.

Edit: nvm micro clover will do. Nettles seems like too much atm after reading how quick it grows

nettle is an invasive species and it does sting, lil nasty chemical barbs! mint will spread through an outdoors area in a hurry if not in a container, sow ez to grow.

still a rookie organic grow'r i am.tryin to figure out what ea of these companion plants or teas does to the mmj, does it signal something with it's immune system, growth hormones, or like steroids lol. the cover crops seems to be a good idea for a few reasons, already have clover seeds for edible sprouts.

what other plants do the canna like?

Most herbs are very prolific if you can get cuttings. I grow outdoors rooftop in containers and have a lot of herbs, basil, mints, lemon balm, and of course aloe. They will do fine under cfl

That author states use cool white bulbs.

lemon balm is great, I ussually plant it all through my outdoor beds, I dont really notice much difference health wise but it does seem to repel insects, for some reason I can't get it to grow in my swamp though.

ive always heard that nettles are good to look for when finding spots outdoors as their growth indicates good ground soil for cannabis.

Thanks guys. I live in a illegal state so nervous about trying outdoors. Are those "micro clover" cover crop worthy?

It needed to be watered, I did and it perked up nice. Quielte healthy.

Basil also produces a terpene which insects are not attracted to. I have a bush of Thai Basil in the garden

Its the terpene lemon balm produces

if you got room grow some herbs and veggies fuck maybe even some flowers, why not?!
i never understand why people just simply stick to cannabis when they have the ability and room ot grow things they can eat

Grow some allium family plants in there for pest control. Ie onion, chives, etc. Butternut Squash fruits are good nitrogen and potassium. The seed are decent phosphorus

pot marigolds if outdoors coz roots have extracts that keep pests away especially nematodes and never forget garlic too

PM loves squash. Just make sure you are maintaining

Absolutely. Veggies outweigh cannabis over here. Few flowers and ivy as well

hey since you're not too far into flower, I'd consider giving em a slight nitrogen boost. maybe top-dress w good soil, or some diluted earthworm casting tea, blood meal, guano or something. perhaps a splash of age old organics grow. Not much tho! just seems like your two big ones are running out of fuel and are fading too soon.

I did not know! I do know the fucking moth that eats squash, kale, pumpkins, and it seems like it eats everything else as well. Friggin plagued haha. I need to get a couple truckloads of cedar mulch and more companion plants growing like weeds.
