I'm getting into making my own oils and waxes but I haven't moved to the waxes. I see this item called the honey bee extract and they even have one that holds up to 100 grams. So I was wondering is this a good method to use??? This is my time trying Bho and heard that it is the most effective so I really want to do this right. Peace

The Honeybee works, but I've found single pass columns with a ID greater than around an inch, to be less efficient for complete resin removal.

Consider a Bed Breakfast, and Beyond stainless turkey baster at $7.99 or a smaller diameter stainless or Borosilicate tube.

Thanks I've done alot of research after reading your post. When using the baster what is a good filter to use. Like I said this is my first time with oils. Never tried it but heard many things about it.

I use doubled up coffee filter, with a silkscreen over it as a blowout preventor.

Just got my bed bath n beyond Baster...really can't wait to see results. I'm waiting till I finish my purple kush grow to really get some good oil out of it. I read you wanna use butane that is triple or more, which do you all prefer.

DO NOT get the queen bee extractor, I repeat, DO NOT get the queen bee.

it works, but there is so so much better out there. its way too fat... like 3" or something, maybe more.

i use "power 5x", i have used one can of vector in my life, it was a freebee, it was also used with about 18 other cans of power 5.. so i saw no difference..

    My power 5 is cheap.

what ever you buy, i would recommend buying at least 12 cans + each purchase, you get a better deal. and also 5x+ refined,

maybe vector 3x if they have one..

    i got no experience :[

Would stainless increase the static shock hazard or no. ?

    yes!

here is a worst case scenario:

turkey baster, with metal hose clamp/filter, blasting into a stainless steel dish..

to turn it up a notch, inside.. anddddddddddddd over a gas stove :]

here is a better case scenario

turkey baster, rubber band/ziptie/filter, spray into glass pyrex.. outside..

this job requires prep, and planning, try to prep/ plan out ways on not how to blow yourself up :]

i took "static shock hazard" as meaning danger..

did you have a different meaning behind that question?

chopped Purple Kush nugs straight off plant about 3-4 days ago, chopped up buds pretty small, (got a nice scissor hash bowl that night :] )

bagged into a zipcloc, and placed into freezer..

today i packed/filtered my baster, then through that into the freezer for another hour..

took out, blasted 1/3 can, super, super clear the whole time :p

    muffined,
melted down at 115F, then raised to full vac, been at that temp, and full vac for about 2 hours..

made it once. I bought the honey bee tube. I used it putting the liquid in a square pyrex pan. When it was done evaporating i put it in a coffee cup & used paper towels to clean the pyrex.
Do NOT do this. It just stuck the papertowel & made a huge mess.

Next time (prob a month or so) I will do it again but properly. The oil I did get was great. I used it to paint joints.

I hope I get a better product next time.

haha! ya, there is plenty of info around here on better methods :]

do some digging, IMO, the honey bee tube has a bad design..

tube + butane + pyrex + oven(low heat) + RAZOR BLADES + weed + parchment paper( i have so much oil laying around on parchment, parchment is key) = gold

ya mang! i was just looking for vacuum pump oil the other day, gawddd, took me 6 stores to find the oil, NAPA was gonna be my next choice.. BUT, i found my oil in a local appliance service shop, and they had some sweeeeet looking vacuums, like $4-800 ones, im in love.. I dont want to buy one right now, but i cant wait till mine breaks, and needs to be replaced :]

i have an FJC 3cfm pump, its a lightweight, gets work done, but sure is slowwwwwwww
