Using GA3 to keep an auto from flowering until you want

OK so before people jump in and say "If you don't want the 3 month harvest why use autos in the first place..."

There are a few reasons....

1. They can handle more light and don't need to be protected rom light leaks as much because most houses have light off for 6 hours a day at least anyway. Also, a little light doesn't cause stable, hardy strains to hermie. Even if its on all night for days and then off for days. C'mon. The moon and the clouds.. It's a varying nightlight. Just not so harsh.
2. You could finally CLONE AUTO's with a good reason.


If you use a high concentration of Ga3 while training an auto (lst,mainlining,topping, fimming,etc) and then stopped dosing the Ga3 is it possible that flowering could be put off until you want it to begin?


"Premature flowering. If a plant is sufficiently developed, premature flowering may be induced by direct application of GA to young plants. This action is not sustained and treatment may have to be repeated. Formation of male flowers is generally promoted by concentrations of 10 to 200 ppm, and female flowers by concentrations of 200-300ppm. Concentrations of more than 600 ppm markedly suppresses initiation of both male and female flowers."

A big question here would be:

Do auto's have a lifespan of only several months before they will start to die, or is their death only 'guaranteed' because they die after flowering and they flower automatically?

If they only die because they flower and you could put off flowering then that would be awesome. If they would start to show aging signs regardless if they flowered or not, it would be pretty pointless.

I find this very interesting and would like to know the answer to it aswell. I have always wondered if someone could get the growth rate of an auto into a photo period plant.

Definitely couldbe useful for those looking to up their yields who are willing to use some more "advanced" techniques/chemicals to do so. Looks to me like something with some a lot of untapped potential.
