Using a Aerogarden for rooting clones

I was going to make a DIY cloner lot but a aerogarden 7 pod came up cheap on ebay so I grabbed it. It didn't come with any pods / baskets so I have ordered some from amazon.

Does anyone use the aerogarden for starting off clones or for keeping mothers? Any tips?

I would like to always have 4 plants on the go so if I could find a way to keep 3 mothers in the AG then use the remaining 4 spots for rooting clones from those mothers it would work perfectly for me.

Thanks

Use it for starting clones, it works AMAZING! My second clone came out of it like a week ago and exploded in some coco-coir/perlite mix when I transplanted, first one I did I transplanted into a water farm and it is huge. I take my location for cloning, do my trimming dip in some cloning gel, then put in the aerogarden DIY dirt plug with the little aerogarden DIY cup you can buy for doing your own seeds. Just add water with low nutrients, I already have some other herbs in mine I keep 1 spot open for cloning and it works like a charm.

Do I just put the stem into the brown sponge and Im good to go? Does any of the stem stick out of the bottom of the sponge?

no stem out the bottom , yea u just stick it in there with a little rooting gel I have a good success rate I have even heard people don't use the rooting gel and just stick it in there but I think that would take longer.
