Use of Herbs that drive Cannabis further into your bloodstream (and a few that synergize).

So I'm new to the forum, Hi All!

So I have had some really good results mixing other herbs with Cannabis, and as gift to humanity I would like to allow others to know some of what I've discovered works for me, and has made my life easier to cope with, I had a hemmoragic stroke at age 21, long negative story, not necessary to explain in depth.

I figured if theses herbs help me feel better, maybe someone with a relatively normal brain could also benefit.

So I know, kind of a negative post so far , please excuse as I'm trying my best to offer help to others.

So here goes my list.

Saffron extract- depression insomnia pain, boosts thc absorbency. Anti cancer, protects eyes and brain from damage.

Bugle weed- relaxes nerves soothes anxiety, help insomnia, helps breathe deeply. Interacts with cannabinoids

Chicory root- calming & mellow, seems to potentiate cannabinoids, good for dementia.

Passionflower- good for stress & anxiety but also crosses blood brain barrier bringing extra cannabinoids with it. Very mystic buzz. I use sparingly and on occasions only.

Cardamom- anti depressant, nervine seems to bring a more positive buzz, I like it a lot. Boosts glutathione levels, your body's own super antioxidant.

Star anise- seems to bring a sense of calmness and relaxation. Anti depressant activity.

Linden flower- boosts the buzz, nice mellow, good for stress & insomnia.

Skullcap- soothing and mellow, has kind of an indica effect, nice boost to the buzz without really changing it much, seems to level off anxieties and fear. I like this one a lot, even in the morning.

Lavender flowers- nice relaxing, mostly before bed, a little goes long way, has caused insomnia on larger doses.

Hawthorne berry- seems to help depression, relax the body and mind, good heart and lungs. Very small dose.

That's kind of my list for the herbs that brought me most noticeable effects.

Some worth still mentioning are, lemongrass, nutmeg( nice up effect, don't over do it, I buy whole nuts) lemon balm, (magnolia bark extract, Jamaican dogwood, I take everyday still), damiana (works but leaves me scatterbrained, super low dose if I take it.)

And last but not least that seem to have a boosted effect but no sign of exactly how or why they work for me; cats claw bark, bacopa, cramp bark.

There are more out there I've yet to try, can anyone offer me an herb or two that may have made a difference in your life?

Disclaimer: please use caution when mixing herbs, and be aware that if you are on medication you should consult your doctor first, or atleast thoroughly educate yourself first before trying these.

Also don't take whole capsules either if that's your only source, open the capsules and try small amounts first before diving into an herb you haven't had experience with yet.

I hope this really can help others, I really do, best of luck to you all.

I might add I've survived 11 years past my stroke, and 7 years since the worst of the symptoms I developed from the brain damage that occurred, it takes 3 1/2 to 4 years for you develope the worst/full of the symptoms of stroke incurred damage.

But yeah I've managed to combat a lot of my issues/problems and feel human and happy again through use of various natural medicines, an important one being Cannabis.

I figured I should also fill you in on these two aswell since I take them every day.

Jamaican dogwood - mild pain killer, sedative, anti-spasmodic good for nerves, helps me too relax deeply. Cannabinoid activity also.

Magnolia bark extract - helps anxiety, lowers stress, good general tonic, anti-cancer. Actually contains cannabinoids.

One I haven't mentioned yet, forgetful me,

Kava Kava - anti-stress & anti-anxiety, painkiller, muscle relaxant activity, helps depression and allows you to be more talkative, nice spiritual buzz to it. <--(Only thing is you have to get it raw and fresh to get the good stuff, although I have heard of you get the concentrated paste extract, that it is super strong and easy to use, too expensive for me is reason for no purchase yet.)

One herb I have tried is "Blue Lotus flower" but it was only once, and so I can't really go into detail but it had a nice mellow introspective buzz maybe some pain killing effect but worked good with Cannabis.

I may have strayed from the topic a bit, sometimes it's hard to distinguish which ones actually drive Cannabis further into your system , and which ones only synergize with Cannabis( Maybe I should edit title).

The ones I've found to actually cross blood brain barrier with cannabinoids and increase absorbsion are as follows : Passionflower, Saffron extract, skullcap, chicory.

I was hoping maybe somebody could help me do a little research, I've read that the snowdrop flower & snow flake flower have similar properties and have been used to treat people with Alzheimer's/dementia.

Also daffodil, there is some concern for various safety issues, thing is doctors are using it for Alzheimer's patients to get other drugs further into the patients brain, but it could be used for better absorbsion of Cannabis aswell.

Hi Blake, I actually grew my own passion flower passiflora incarnata from seed and if you get a plant or two going it can really spread and take off on its own after a few years, the flowers are delicious, as are the maypop fruit they make. I've gotten multi harvests off of one planting season, cold hardy, grows back every year. Semi-invasive but it's maypop fruit contain lycopene and relaxant properties. I loved my plants when I had some growing.

I'd guess a health food store, or online store would have some good stuff, but the best is to grow your own if your able . Same for skullcap.

ttystikk, actually you can get a slight anti depressant effect and positive buzz by adding a little citrus peel to your meal or drink. It contains volatile oils similar to those found in other herbs, note the aromatic smell of the peel itself, that's where some of the health benefits and enhancement comes from.(side note: pomegranate peels have health benefits aswell, and I noticed mild insomnia relief from it, just throwing that out there).

Abesupercro, thanks for the info about the star dogwood tree, I hadn't heard of it yet. Those red branches in the pic you posted are beautiful.

Thank You Everyone for your replies!

I have had a chance to sample a few more herbs, mug wort, safflower petals, both pink and red rose petals, frankincense, bay leaves, allspice, Jasmine flowers, cloves .

The only ones I noticed an effect from where, safflower, frankincense, Jasmine flowers and cloves. Although the others might have a minor effect.

Safflower - nice mellow effect, very chill, good for relaxation, seems to calm the mind, it's more subtle than some of the others. I like it a lot and have been taking it daily, I recommend it. Not as much research as saffron but still safflower has been used medicinally for 1000's of years and like many other herbs has multiple benefits.

Frankincense - positive, uplifting kind of vibe from frankincense, has a deep sort of muscle relaxant effect, it is soothing to joints and muscles. It calms the body and mind, I noticed it relaxed my breathing patterns some possibly slowed down my heart beat just a tinge, nothing bad feels good actually, just need to learn my dosage. I wish I would have tried this sooner, I noticed it helps me sleep, and I seem to be reaping multiple benefits from taking it. Has anti-depressant activity and has sesquiterpenes that pass the blood brain barrier(BBB).

Jasmine flowers - I did notice a slight cognitive effect from this flower, positive , uplifting, slightly motivating. Seemed to make me slightly more spaced out. Contains iridoids, super good for health, iridoids helps your body heal and function better. Helped my eyes handle light better, like I didn't need to wear my sunglasses as often( which I almost always have on ), seems to relieve eye irritation and pressure. Good for insomnia.

Cloves - I noticed a slight anti depressant effect, cloves are spicy so you can only eat small amounts, but I still noticed an effect and it also has mild pain relieving properties. Good for coughs, colds, sore throat etc aswell. Has a multitude of health promoting benefits, has been written about in ancient texts for its health benefits. I trust the ancients.

A few others are snapdragon flower, Angelica, pineapple sage. I encourage you guys to beat me to trying these herbs and if you could let me me know how they helped/benefitted you. I plan on trying these in the near future and I will post my findings.

One side note about iridoids, they are found in skullcap, saffron, I was super excited to read about each of these in PDF's. Also look into honey suckle blossoms for iridoids, Noni, jasminoides gardenia. There are many others.

Hope this helps, thanks again for reading.

Hello Flagg420, Thanks for bringing this to my attention, it's a great point. I was just focusing on getting this information out there, Although we all have to find out our own personal dosage, I still need to guide you a little on what works for me and maybe show you a few pointers that I've discovered.

I'm kind of a caveman, so I've actually been nibbling on some of these in their raw unadulterated natural form, there are quite a few that I take in the form of drops from a tincture, there are some that I make teas from also. And there are a few options and ways to administer theses healing herbs/spices. Honestly it feels great getting to know some of these herbs/spices whole and I recommend others to atleast sample them whole at some point in time, gives me a better understanding of the herbs and gives me enjoyment and appreciation for what I'm taking, I'd like other open minded ones to give it a try if you haven't.

If one wants to get more serious about it it would be a good idea to make your own extract with a high proof liquor or everclear. And possibly combine a few herbs together into sort of an anti-depressant synergizing potion, would make administering daily dosage easier.

Some of the reason I eat these raw like I do, is because money is an issue and to get the most out of them Ive got to eat raw or whole when possible. Sometimes tea or alcohol extract are the only two options for injesting an herb. Because some herbs come with way too many stems and twigs and stuff in there that it's basically inedible, certain root herbs are a good example, tons of Woody fibers. But also making tea can be more wasteful than an alcohol extract, because there's still a lot of chemicals in these herbs that aren't water soluble, only alcohol penetrates deep enough to pull out the essential oils and such, and usually you'lol want to soak for several weeks or so if you do make an extraction. But I don't usually have time for tea or money for high proof liquor so I just do what I have to in order to feel better most of the time.

My dosages that I take as follows.

Saffron extract- I ordered a generic bottle of saffron extract online, still good quality tho, and I have only seen it in the powdered form in a capsule. So I open one capsule sprinkle about a bb or lentil sized amount onto the tip of my finger and dab it off with tongue, lol, you could use spoon I'd guess. I rinse afterwards lol. That or I measure it out it of the top part of capsule after some has been removed from the bottom side of the capsule, I do this if none will spill out over from inside the capsule.

So on some of these I only take fractional amounts. Which is great because like with saffron extract one bottle lasts forever when you can make one capsule at a time last 7-10 days. Capsules I got are 88 mg which is a larger dose than what I've read to be recommended anyway, which is like 20-30 mg. But I take probably less than 10 mg at a time and still notice an effect, and saffron hits quickly within 10 mins, so it's good for a quick anti-depressant pick me up.

Bugleweed - easy I take 4 drops from tincture. Great herb very potent, worth looking into.

Chicory - hard to say how much I am taking, it comes in a roasted powder form, like coffee, the granules melt in your mouth, so I just take at small pinch or two out of my bag with two fingers and sprinkle it into my mouth. I recommend chicory root over wild opium lettuce or mad dog lettuce, which ever name it goes by, chicory has a stronger effect than the lettuce) therefore more medicinal imo. They both contain sesquiterpenes tho, and have acetycholinesterase inhibitory properties, which is beneficial for depression and people with dementia. Also anti-inflammatory properties aswell.

Passionflower - I grew my own , but before that I bought it in the pre-packaged night time tea blend but was mixed with other herbs. I've seen it in a tincture at health food store, and whole in the bulk herbs section. I had so much of it when I grew it that I would just walk out in the yard take a whole leaf off plant and just eat it straight, so I would guess maybe 0.5 -1.0 gram for starters, although you can take more you might go into a stupor if you take to much. Passion flower is very powerful when combined with cannabis, and is/was a sacred herb used by many tribes native to the America's for spiritual purposes and to evoke visions and communicating with dead ancestors and such. Basically can help open your third eye.

Use caution with passionflower, I've had times that I injested too much or smoked too much with it, and spaced out while driving. I don't recommend driving until after your high has peaked or until you know for sure how high your going to be. It can seriously get dangerous fair warning. Also this is the only herb on this list that I've also smoked, and it has a nice buzz, just take your time and space your hits out, not the best if you smoke too much, I'd say maybe 2-4 puffs and wait 20-30mins before you try more, which is why I usually always just eat it or make tea from it.

Cardamom - I buy the cardamom pods whole in the white/light green husk, it contains little black or brown seeds inside, probably around 12 seeds in each pod. I just eat 3-5 of the seeds whole, chew them just a bit and swallow. One interesting note about cardamom is that they have to harvest it before it ripens completely because about 3/4 of the way to maturity the pods hit a peak in essential oil content and must be picked before the seeds fully harden off. I like this one raw, no need for extract imo.

Star Anise - this one is best for an alcohol extract in my opinion. I've just been eating a little nibble here and there straight of the out husk/shell, which is drenched in essential oils, the seeds don't really contain much oil or flavor. But it seems edible enough to me not Woody, so I just eat a bite about the size of a lentil or popcorn seed. Lol on my size measurement comparisons, sorry wish I could be more exact. I use my tongue to tell me how much I'm taking on this one, some pieces with have more oil than others.

Linden flower - I've made tea from linden flower before, haven't seen it in the tincture dropper form yet. Sometimes if I'm low on tea bags I'll just tear the top open and sprinkle bits out into my hand and just eat the dried leaves straight. And save the rest on the tea bag in a plastic bag with a label written on it, I'm kind of a redneck.

Skullcap - comes in tea bag form, tincture form, I just buy it whole sprinkle some out onto a small dish and pick the stems out and then afterwards I eat the rest of the leaves whole. I'm a firm believer in eating the leaves whole, although an alcohol extraction would be ideal.

Lavender - I eat this one out of a tea bag, sprinkle some onto my hand and eat raw, I only use minute amounts of this herb, so tea or alcohol tincture are unnecessary on this herb for me, although I still take some a few days per week.

Hawthorne berry - I've found this one at health food store in the bulk herbs area, I've seen it mixed with linden flower in a tea bag, but it's too strong for me to drink a full cup of tea of this one, so I've just been powder/grinding the whole berries down as needed for a dose each day, just a few small granules maybe the size of a dime or penny in my hand and swallow it down. Maybe a pill file or small hand file grinder could be used to powderize the berries.

Nutmeg - one of my favorites to eat whole, I just eat a small piece about the size of a peanut or black eyed pea. Good for insomnia, takes about 3 hrs to kick in.

Jamaican dogwood - this one is simple, I just take about 7-10 drops from a tincture depending on how I'm feeling that day. I enjoy Jamaican dogwood for its anti-spasmodic effect, relaxes agitated nerves and helps with aches and such. I recently ran out and noticed a difference, gotta restock on this soon.

Magnolia bark extract - I have this in a tincture bottle and I take 10-12 drips each day. It's a lifesaver , has tons of health benefits mostly knocks down my anxiety a few extra notches.

Safflower - I've been eating this in its natural form, red flower petals is how they come in raw form, and I just chew about 15-20 of them and swallow. These are very popular in several Asian countries and are used daily for their health benefits, usually in the tea form is how they take it there.

Frankincense - I just take a piece maybe the size of a popcorn kernels or so and chew it up. They call them frankincense tears and they are the sap drippings from the boswellia bush, similar to the way rubber or maple syrup is harvested by cutting into the bark. But they are special plants because they survive in extremely dry areas where almost no other plants survive.

Jasmine flowers - I just found these whole at health food store recently, they are the same flowers that you find blended with green tea. But I have the whole white flowers and I eat maybe a whole flower , maybe half of one. They are strong so I could feel just one flower last like 6 hrs or more.

Cloves - I have been eating less than a half of a whole clove, they are potent so it doesn't take much to feel an effect.

Also I should mention I've felt a slight buzz change also from sichuan peppercorns, chamomile, and peppermint. Also I want to sample coriander, haven't tested it yet for my experiments.

Sichuan peppercorn, I just eat 1 empty seed pod, can cause insomnia if take too many. Anti-depressant activity.

The peppermint is best if you grow it yourself and harvest the tiny flower heads whole, I noticed way more uplift than just eating the leaves. I felt great off of it, Downside is you don't get seeds from the ones you pick, but I'd recommend trying this to others if you have patience and a green thumb.

I hope this list will give you a little idea of what you can do to improve your buzz, make your buzz last longer, and allow you to consume less cannabis if you choose to do so, because honestly for me, my cannabis last much longer and is harder hiting when combined with these herbs.

And also with the right combination of herbs I've been able to combat paranoia and anxiety related issues from certain strains that used to cause me to stress out or that used to make me feel uncomfortable, although there are still occasions where I have to slow my roll.

So yeah it's all in the synergistic affect that you get when you combine 10-15 other herbs with your cannabis the fractional amounts of each one come into play and it becomes a high as a whole, in its entirety, it can take you further into consciousness than cannabis can do alone by itself.

Once again I wish you all the best luck, and I hope that you can gain some happiness in your lives from trying a few of these herbs, or all of them.

Thanks for your time. Cheers.

this explains so much.
It took you this long to find an old post of mine and to make fun of it, with the help of some other lowlife like yourself, but yeah you're the smart one, butthole.

You're too stupid to even reply to, yet I'm considerate enough to still give you attention when needed, and to give the admins advice as to why they should permanently ban you, and it will happen soon, plus your threads about white genocide and how much you love the ideology behind it can a be removed from the forum along with banning your low intelligence ass. Ha ha
