US States to avoid...

Which US states are the least harsh on possession of marijuana? I've read a few threads here and seen news reports of certain states cracking down hard, even on those carrying very little.

What constitutes more than enough for personal use? In the UK, the laws have been relaxed to the extent that you barely get a slap on the wrist if you're carrying a joint of two in your pocket, though things can get a lot more serious if you're caught with a farm in your loft.

A good resource for information on individual state laws is http://www.kintera.org/site/c.glKZLeMQIsG/b.1086497/k.BF78/Home.htm , though I'm more looking for personal experiences rather than the law. After all, in many places the local authorities have been known to turn a blind eye now and again.

well over here they don't look kindly at all to this kind of thing...

1 or 2 is pretty much treated the same way as a loft. You'll get less prison time or a lesser fine. But still it is not seen to be contributing goodness to society.

I'd have to say California. Possession of under an ounce is nothing more than an infraction. An infraction is like a traffic ticket. The fine for under 28 grams is $100. California is also a "Medical Marijuana" state. With your doctor's written recommendation, you can grow and possess for you personal use. You can also grow as a caregiver for other patients. Each county has its own guidelines for plant numbers and finished buds.

Medical marijuana in Nevada: You can grow 6 plants with only 3 mature at a time, you can posses less than an ounce on your person, care givers are alloted the same priveleges. There are only 600 liscenced people in the state, do you think it's hard to get a liscence or are the people just paranoid that the govt. will change the law and come and get all the known potheads. I've tried to find a Dr. that will prescribe it, but so far no luck. If someone knows of a Dr. list of prescribers, please post it here. thanks.

[Currently Alaska is decrimalized to the point that EACH consenting adult in a household can have up to 1/4 pd for personal use in their home, buying and selling is illegal, you HAVE to grow it yourself and smoke it in your home to be protected. Its also pretty easy to get a medical card for it. I received mine for constant back problems from constuctions jobs and was just tired of taking so many different pain killers.
