hey all, im new to this hydro stuff but am learning quickly. i've spent all day trying to understand the µS/cm idea and the "conversion" factor. from what i understand your "conversion" factor is determined by your EC meter, correct? but I'm still at a loss as to how a conversion fator is necessary. what does your µS/cm * your conversion factor give you? PPM? I've also read EC is the most accurate way to go. So My next set of questions is directly regarding my readings given by my µS/cm EC meter. My resirvoir is around 1580 µS/cm. my tap water reads approx 400 µS/cm. As i understand this means my approx PPM is 590. I have a successfully rooted clone at about 2.5 weeks right now, but am having what i believe to be nutrient burn issues. my PH levels are bang on at 6.0 to 6.5. I am on a well water system, so i guess my question is, do i need to work with lower EC readings in my resivoir because my tap water EC readings are so high? i've read that A Reverse Osmosis system may be needed, but i cant quite afford one yet. any and all help appreciated. thanks in advance guys and girls !
