Urgent help needed, first time grower

Hi all, fraid I havent introduced myself but as mentioned, im in trouble.

Planted seeds 4 days ago and had em sitting in a propagation thing with the humidity lid on. I had them about 2.5 ft away from the light (250w HID) and not directly under it. Also used a bit of spreader mat (like cotton wool) to shade them a bit from the light. Temps are quite variable throughtout the day but generally in accepted range I think! from 20-30 degrees C. Ive been keeping them moist by misting them with a solution of water and rhizotonic (4ml/ltr) whenever I check on them.
Anywho, they all popped so yesterday I decided to take the humidity lid off and move them under the light, but this morning I went to check on them and they had all flopped, lying down on their cubes. The cubes seemed very dry to the touch so i hit em with a lot more solution. Ive got em propped up with cut cable ties but they dont seem to be improving, getting limper and the little leaves darker in colour.
Ive been spraying them with plain water for the last few hours instead.

Can anyone tell me whats wrong with them, and what I can do to try and save them?

The humidity is also quite low, hovers around 30% so have been misting generally around the room to bring it up, doesnt stay up long though due to the extraction fan.

Sounds like it could be a couple things. Possibility 1 is that you did not get the dome off quickly enough and they fell victim to damping off or root rot. Looks for a discolored section on the stem or brown roots. Possiblity 2 is they dried out.

It sounds like you checked on them frequently so I'm thinking it isn't #2, which would bounce back quickly if they are going to bounce back at all. If number 1 you are done and they cannot be saved.

Could be more possibilities but based on what you've told us so far that is all I can think of.

Cant see any of the roots yet, I cant imagine the humidity within the dome was that high as it barely even misted the inner plastic

For anyone thats interested there are another 2 apart from those in the picture in even worse condition, these werent as developed when i removed the dome

Yeah, that looks like damping off to me, at least the one pictured by itself. Let them go in case I am wrong.

You quickly get 100% humidity in a dome with just a little bit of standing water or fully saturated cubes. I used to dome my seedlings too so I know the look. I don't use them anymore and haven't had a damping off issue since.

Yeah, I know. It's a virus that pops up over night in seedlings and it really needs high humidity to get started.

I'm just calling it like I see it based on my experiences so wait for some more comments and hold onto some hope until they get better or die completely. I will be happy to be wrong if they recover! Good luck!
