I was wondering if it was possible to grow upside down. Im not trying this right now but i was wondering...if after the plant grew its first set of leaves, turn the pot upside down (lining the top with wire mesh so the soil doesnt fall out) and put the light on the ground pointing up at the turned over pot??........

Wat about sideways??

OR HOW BOUT THIS SHIT, LOL........Hang a SMALL ball of soil from a wire in the middle of a grow box. put equal amounts of lights all around the ball. will the plants leaves grow 360 around the ball??

that would be dope if you could find a way to grow any plant 360 around a center point of growth like a suspended ball of soil or rockwool!!
they grow other plants upside down either way up or down it still has to fight gravity hanging upside to me would seem its easier on the plant.

ive been wanting to try it ill let you know what happens

Here is an update and some results to how the shit grows while hanging suspended from the ceiling with !000W bulbs hanging down vertical within the center of the 4ft Diameter circle.

With suffecient air movement with oscillating fans my bulbs are within 6-8 inches from the buds. Beware of burn LOL.

Was a shade and horizontal bulbs user for many years and went with hanging bulbs down within circle of plants and get all my lumens down to the dirt. Nice tight nuggs throughout.

Well here 's my "proto type" first time shot at my girls hanging. 7-10 days left and gots friggin mites again. Damn I'm not into spraying anything now or using sulphur burner due to bubble hash maker here.

Plant were cleaned up after the shots due to help was in a hurry and had to go home. Tough being married for some. LOL

Being first shot at this decided to let plant grow naturally with no pruning, bending or any other tactics to get the plant to produce volume buds.

BUT, this being said the next shot will be all of the above for optimum results. Don't get caught with my copyright or I'll hunt ya down for my infringement payments and royalties. LMAO

ERRRR.. wait a minute.. your plants are hanging from the fucking ceiling and you STILL GOT SPIDER MITES? WTF? Those are some determined little mofos huh? I wonder if they built some sort or rudamentary catipult to fling themselves one by one onto your plant. Or built the first ever spider mite spaceship and landed on your plant which they call "the big green planet near the light" lol
Or they just walked up the wall and across the ceiling and down the chain etc lol.

Typo....dude, get a job, volunteer, do something....you got way too much time on your hands! lol
Peace
Why do you say such things? It kinda makes sence, if the stalk uses capilary action to push water up then why not let gravity do the work for you? I'm figuring you need less water and you might get a bigger plant faster. Kind of like force feeding a kid. He/she will grow up to be a fat fucker. Why not want some succulent double sized buds? Flip over for the 2 week wash and enjoy some yummy buds.

in 8th grade a farmer friend of mine did a experiment on gravity's effects on plants and he went to state finals with it. he grew corn in constant motion through out it life and proved gravity aint got shit on plants. they can grow in space if they could get the elements they need. you CAN do it! it proven, i saw it!~

Hey, y'all. Currently I'm working on a design for a 10-plant grow box that allows the plants to be grown upside-down, aeroponically. Still deciding on choice of lights, between HID or LED setups. Not that critical at this stage, but when I begin to purchase all the parts for my design, rest assured, there will be pics galore. Also, if anyone has any questions about my ideas, feel free to PM me -- I have some preliminary drawings of the apparatus.

Captain go ahead and post the info please, I'd like to see what you're thinking and I'm sure others would.

I'll try to post it tomorrow, I'm seeing if I can't throw together a 3D rendering of the setup real quick in Inventor. Gotta love 3D modeling! Makes building stuff a hell of a lot easier. Only problem is it runs kinda slow on my netbook. Gotta get me a desktop soon...

Haha, I'm fondly known to my friends as "The Ganjaneer" -- I use my highly developed sense of design to supplement my highly developed love of marijuana. Oh, and by the way, when I do finish the plans up, I have every intention of sharing all dimensions and materials used, for free. Marijuana is all about community, so sharing my method is my way of giving back to that community. :D

I just thought about trying this method and I seriously think it could work and it might even be better then regular grows. My thinking is hang the soil and put the light at the very bottom. That way when the plant grows its still growing towards light and it doesn't have to fight gravity and its actually helping it along. And plus if you really wanted to you could even do like a scrog method and it would actually be even easier to control all the branches.
