Is growing them any different than growing cubensis? I know cubensis are the most commonly grown strain because they're the easiest.
pretty much the same a smaller mushroom with a ting of blue that packs a punch 1 meanie is like taking 5 goldtops

Yeah that was one of the first threads I read when I started looking into this. I was almost turned away because it made it seem like I needed to clean the whole house and dedicate an entire room for the whole operation. I understand sanitation is a big step to take but this thread made it seem kind of over the top. Still a great thread though

So... Spring cleaning, throwing away the green bits in the fridge and a couple of extra showers is too much?

Living at home? The folks would be pleased as could be.

And a closet is just fine.

See I didn't know it was that simple at the time. The thread made it seem like I had to empty and sterilize an entire room in the house just to dedicate it to the grow. Now that I am actually going through it I know that isn't the case. Besides, I never clean the house and my dad is pretty smart. If he saw me cleaning the house and taking old food out of the fridge and whatnot he's gonna know something's up. My dad was doing the same kind of stuff at my age.
I'm not trying to argue with anyone because I know that it's a helpful guide and that's all you guys are trying to do for me. I'm just saying that at the time I originally read it I misunderstood it and that's my fault.

My jar just finished Colonizing. There are no apparent signs of contamination. I'm going to wait a few more days before I open it. I'm just not sure which route I should take. I have a terrarium but it doesn't have any holes and I don't own a drill. I looked into the invitro tek and thought that might be a good solution if I don't need a terrarium but I'm not sure. What do you guys suggest?

Good luck with invitro,

IMO get a drill and holes and built a Shotgun Fruiting Chamber.

The dunk is necessary for a good flush. I would just clear the verm and fill the jar with tap water for 24 hours, changing out the water every 8. Mushrooms are 80-90% water, they will benefit from this.

If not open it from the top, clear off the verm and add a fresh layer. Mist it when it's dry. This will help create a microclimate that will stimulate pinning.

I've been growing shrooms for years, invitro will cause you to either break your shrooms or smash the jar getting them out.

I think this was addressed but jars typically get 1cc each.

5cc is wasting spore and could make your solution too wet for germination.

Yeah when I looked into the invitro tek and saw the mushrooms growing around the inside of the jar it just looked like a pain in the ass. So could I cover the jar with tinfoil to prevent light hitting the sides and just have it grow out the top? The mycelium appears to be the strongest at the bottom of the jar so I could just birth it, dunk it, and put it back in with the bottom of the cake facing up and layer the top with vermiculite. Do I still need the terrarium to retain the moisture or will the cake being in the jar be enough to hold all the water? Thanks for the response

Light isn't a primary pinning trigger,

High humidity is. Don't wrap it.

Birth it, dunk it and flip it sounds solid, never seen it done that way but it makes a lot of sense. The problem is it may not fit upside down but we'll see. It plumps up quite a bit after a 24hr dunk.

If you don't use the terrarium you will be open-air fruiting. You're just going to have to mist more when the verm gets dry. Don't overmist, only when the majority of it is dry. Pay attention to how it looks wet. It will sparkle like wet sand. When it's dry it won't sparkle as much and look more like dry sand. That's when you water again.

The verm is just to trap the moisture and hold some of the humidity. Humidity is a primary pinning trigger.

Yeah I was planning on putting 1cc in each jar but like I said I was having trouble with the syringe and blasted half of it into one jar. I was kinda pissed because I wasted half of it and I was scared that I fucked it up. But now I have a fully colonized jar so I guess it doesn't matter. At least I got something out of it :)
