Hi I have plants ready for topping . It clearly says to top above the second true node for this method . If your first true nodes are Runts can you just move up a set and top then remove your two lowest runt nodes . This still gives you 4 tops . What will the difference be . ?? Any ideas

I think that will work - if you cut the entire area off so that auxin flow is limited / halted. You could also bury the stem past the runts and they will root there instead of branching. Might be too close to your higher nodes so you may have to wait a bit until she stretches some. GL

I think you need to learn the difference between runts and cotyledons first. After identifying those, then wait until you have 5 true sets of nodes and cut just above the 2nd true set of nodes ( not counting what you refer to as runts ).

OP - Yes you can do this w no problem. UB's techinique recommends using the first nodes sets because it makes it easier to control heighth it smaller rooms. This tech can be used at any 2 sets of nodes. in fact they dont even have to be the nodes next to each other. you could skip nodes as long as you kept everything cleaned up.
