You messed up. You know if you gamble they usually provide FREE booze, foods and shows :D
...And if you go to the strippers with Israeli business owners that you just met and get along with like gang-busters...you get FREE lap dances too!

Oh, I know my way around The Vegas a bit. Just not one for gambling with my own money...

Not that I'm going to get a chance to talk to anyone of utmost importance necessarily, I assume it's probably just a lot of young people trying to get a foot in the door for their political careers and key players are kept behind the velvet rope...or something like that.

But - is there anything specific that anyone wants me to ask or bring up?

They practically HAVE to listen to me - I paid to be there!
I've really debated with myself (yes it is possible) if I should reply to this post....
The reason for my initial reluctance is the concern that a serious conversation might not even be feasible here at RIU. The majority of threads dissolve into a childlike pissing contest with very little value. This is a good opportunity to test the waters.

I would first off keep in mind that the number one issue for politicians is to be elected.

I would also keep in mind that there are two arenas concerning MMJ. The first is a medical program, the second being legalization.

I have no clue if the Liberals want any input on this topic. I am very ignorant to the world of politics. Is there a RIU member here that has some political experience and can provide some guidance?

I would send the Party a letter first. Perhaps an outline for a possible position on the two issues. Some sort of " input ideas from the grassroots". I would have a very clear, articulate question prepared. You might only get one opportunity. I would be as professional in appearance and mannerism as possible.

I would define the question...perhaps it should be as simple as...Will the Liberal Party come out with a clear position on a medical marijuana and legalization program, similar to ie Washington State.
I think it's important to let the Party know that it's ok to tell Canadians that you are going to put a big sin tax on recreational use. I think the Party could benefit from some input. Perhaps the results of a poll might be helpful.

I would approach this with starting a new thread. Asking for input on a "letter", and a "question". A poll? I think there's a talent pool lurking here that might be coaxed out of hiding and be willing to help...particle comes to mind.

Yes, first find out who your MP is, and try calling/writing them first.
Ask them personally what their stance is and why.
Don't waste time trying to address the whole crowd when you can be more focused with your individual rep. That will tell you more about the "party line" than anything.
