Yes, this is a journal. What needs to be known? makes it easier to keep track of things, and it is well worth it to be able to go back and look, aiding in the process of what's next. It's legitimate, conforming to regulations, not for profit, but to fuel our generations.....

Hello riu-
The past is the past. And it has been what feels like forever. I'd rather not say, so please dont ask.

Very rusty, new beginnings- Takes time to get back into things. Without further ado, here's what's new. With kindness I return, and to all who find retribution in love: Thank You.

While questions are fine, comments, thoughts, and chatter no problem- I can't garuntee answers.

It is what it is- once that is accepted it is so much easier to pass the days away happily. So much work, always the labors of love.

Give em another week from the pics in my post above, and here we are at a week ago, still a long ways to go.

Males got the chop! good ratios.... clones finally adjusting to transplant, long stringy bitches. couple of em are nice. Better to stay with tried and true genetics. Their names will surface over time. Say when they show in flower we have a guessing game? The few who know will understand.

trying a bit of this and a bit of that, trying hps 1000w... not bueno. More babies! things keep changing.

Rusty, yeah.... starting to get back into it- takes time. just jumped in balls deep, with what i had, catching up and making things better, sticking to a plan. long story short. there is always a reason. there is always a choice.

4 went to flower, just wasn't working out with the 1000..... The rest went back into veg..... they bonded in the short time they were together, but will be stronger and better off their separation :).

You have to be able to adapt, accept when some choices don't work out, and figure it out again. Trial and error gets yah dialed in. Boy I cant wait. But must. long road going.

The pics of the four with the lights off went into flower a week ago, under 400W hps. The other 5 went back into veg under the mh's flouros.... shit ton of work to go, and some more pics in a few hours.

these pics were a week ago, just before everything was re-situated....

bringing things up to speed while on a bowl break before feeding them vegging ladies.

Hopefully uppotting them big ones next week (just uppotted those seedlings a day or so ago and moved em- keeps em short up on that shelf under those T5's, short en compact love it). Yeah, everything got moved, larger plants are aligned on different wall now. Balls deep in a construction zone! haha, :) quiet as crickets in here.

Yeah, fresh cuts, about 6 days old or so :D not sure bout the rooting gel i used on it, or how old or still good the clone x solution i used. hopefully those beans pop up soon, was it, the 14th they went in- Looking forward to what wonderful special and new surprises await from them. And the cuts, plans for those cuts.... here and there whatever comes out of it.

Four ladies in flower going to sleep- good night, sweet dreams- you stink. 1 week today, 400w hps- little ph adjustment when they got hit with the open sesame. they get water when they wake up... mmmm drinks :)

So...... Everything is going to Keep moving (as in room to room and place to place). Have to. good exercise. just for a while. new goodies today :) still no circulation fans- will be ok on that until the entire room is lined off with the plastic- shit that could be the 20th- work.

Maybe a few little surprises in them pictures for old friends that know how to look close and remember good times. And some obvious strain names for that guessing game- sssssshhhhh please- cant help the similarities. quiet love- weekly or biweekly updates..... busy times. Happy growing All! :)

Edit- Oh yes, the oldest of those plants, seeds popped up first of december. the rest..... came over time, separate batches, not sexed yet.

oh yeah- Little experiments and learning experiences all over :) - the joys of growing.

Seeds popped in soil one hour before cuttings were taken. All 14 seeds have now popped up, cuttings are doing- OK. So should be fun and interesting to compare their growth rates etc. Kind of wish I had planted seeds of the same strain for comparisson purposes, but already have enough of that.... and these seeds, the nugs they came from so intriguing and nostalgic for me. Very eager to see their fruits :) .... and the comparison is still valid enough for the trivial sake of enjoyment... might do it a few times and see overall in the end if results vary so much (with me anyways)..... Long long road. Pit stop. pics in a week or so, when there might be reason to snap some.

How's everyone? still quiet as crickets :/

That batch of seedlings in the fabric pots in the pics above- They are starting to show sex already :D just females so far but I haven't taken a closer look.

Gave those cuttings some clonex cutting nutrient solution, adjusted the ph- And they did not like it! :/ probably lost half of them before I noticed and flushed the tray out- the rest are probably a bit stunted but Ok. They are starting to pump out some roots, yay- and their side along seedlings are working on their first leaf set.

Feeding those ladies under the 400W HPS tomorrow- FF Big Bloom (1 tblspn Gallon) and FF Tiger Bloom (1/3 tblspn gallon), Micro's first, Macros second, and watered in a bit. Just going into second week of flowering on these. Have to say I am pretty happy with how they are looking under the 400. I probably had room to do 5 at that size at the same time. would be happy to avg 2 zips each off of those but eh we will see. All goes well and in a week or so they may be transferred under an adjustable 1000W starting at 75%. anyways, they get just water next go around, and then another dose of Open Sesame before switching to Cha Ching for 4th & 5th week feedings, then onto Beastie Blooms during weeks 6 and 7. I will continue feeding with Tiger bloom and Big Bloom in between until week 4 when I will replace Big Bloom with Bio Bizz Bio Bloom. (sound familiar to anyone?)

tomorrow mixing soil for transplants and I will do a pic update after I am done transplanting.

Need to get some more bulbs and hoods. Need to get some circulation fans. work on the room halted once the electrical got adjusted but I am going to need to make time around work and everything this week to get some stuff done. Very happy to see the progress of the plants almost mirror the progress of the room, maybe they are just happy to have me around. lol. Cant wait to get that water line ran, definitely need that done next week because once I transplant again they will be too big and heavy for me to move around while watering like I have been.

My choices for full season outdoor females are going to be coming up in the next few months.... choices choices lol! Another batch of cuttings once the transplant ceremonies are all done and all the ladies have adjusted. Need to drop one more batch of seedlings at the same time- will try and get them germinated and hopefully popping above the soil around February 1st. What to try what to try haha :D

Looking forward to that LiverxJakeBlue and Jack the Ripper X Jake Blue .... among many others... like this "mystery strain" (the seedlings next to the cuttings) that reminded me so much of my beloved sensi star- just different.

Quick flower update- Week 2- Probably keep the flower updates separate from the veg ones from now on.

Feeding went well. Let them sit out and get some air for a minute before I crammed them back and and snapped some pics to mark the beginning of Week 2 For them.

And I am going to reveal the strains- In case anyone wanted to know. Just going to put up some group shots in this post (after I put them all away) and then each plant will have a little post with very brief info about them.

20150123_101506.jpg So- First and really quick- The strain, well I am not 100%, but I believe this is an animal cookies. It came from the RIU BBQ, this one was considered a runt, and if I remember correctly was chosen because it was a runt of animal cookies and I received a few of them so it was an extra- might want to note that all 4 of these are runts and considered "extra."
It has been a bit more sensitive to being fed, drinks water very slowly, kinda stretchy definitely not as dense growth as seedlings, no distinctive smell because it is blended with that of the others and the smoke in the room etc haha.

Ok- Next up. Alpha D x Chem Valley OG F2 - This is from a breeding project, Thought it was great that 4/5 were female. You can notice this one has stretched quite a bit, I gather that is from the OG, as the Alpha D's didn't stretch very much. Takes food like a champ, drinks A lot for being tucked back in the corner- the resilience and vigor of this plant, along with nice structure pungent smell and very uplifting yet heavy high make it a wonderful addition to the garden.

Now we have two of the same strain, so same post.

Chem Valley OG x PK SR71 F2-
I call this the short variety- Very much a PK structured plant, the veg growth increased in density from traits of the OG, and it is hardly stretching which is a dormant trait of the PK. I really like this phenotype, it may be one of my favorites. Yields are low- High is heavy, intense, lasts about 2 hours (1 hour more than the original Chem Valley OG we grew out), Heavy OG smell with highlights of the sour grape of PK in the folds. Requires more veg time for heavier yields. Loves food, drinks slowly, almost doesnt like water actually. Prefers a lower ph also.
20150123_100536.jpg 20150123_100624.jpg 20150123_100629.jpg

Now the second Phenotype-
This plant demonstrates why it was chosen as a cross. High yields from the OG, lush vigorous vegetative growth that transfers very well into energy conversation for a lot of bud sites. The high from this variety is noticeably shorter, the smell is noticeably more OG, very little PK to it, accept when it comes to increased Bud density, the amount of stretch in flower, and the Potency or impact of the high ( about an hour and a half .25 gm ingested by bong). Big difference. Wonderful to have both varieties, especially blended together in a bag- the impact of the shorter variety hits harder and faster, a pleasant surprise when a majority is the bushier variety ;)
20150123_101800.jpg

So that's it from the flower update- Veg tomorrow or the next day. Happy growing all.

Quick pic update- will fill in more details later. Just taking a look around about a week after last veg pics. little more than halfway through transplanting, looking forward to being done with that!! And then it will be on to the next round of transplanting but at least with smaller containers.

those are 25 gallon pots. they are heavy, too heavy haha! small steps can take you big places- and hopefully its obvious what I am doing with the lighting- stretch and fill ;) these pics are literally right after transplant- give them another week ;) and, three weeks to go before they go into flower! Looking forward to that as well.

couple didn't load I guess, here are the rest. And more later of course, just have to take a couple more small steps first! ;) The pic focussed on just the one plant- it is 33 inches tall, the big pots measure 17-18 inches tall also.... There is only 2 1/2 more feet left before ceiling!, so 2 ft of vertical grow space still available, 3 weeks, mostly hoping they fill the gaps between them. pinch them tops if I need to, just not this close to transplant. more later, some pics of cuttings and seedlings and stuff. will probably set aside a single post to get some thoughts and options out and think them over a bit.

yes sir! :) thank you

so-Let the race begin, lol. the surviving half of the cuts have all rooted- a few more probably would have, but weren't looking too good, they didn't like the cloning solution I gave them (different than I have used before, could have been operator error, but followed instructions haha). Looks like they are pretty even as of now, but if those cuts dont turn into nice vegging clones soon than they will be outdone very quickly. 10 days to root, not bad, they are doing well adjusting to their transplant (yesterday) Still that little straggler I am holding out for because it has roots showing.

20150127_200849.jpg

I have been mulling quite a few options over in my head, and am still unsure of exactly what the plans are for this and that. Energy consumption and cost is definitely something to be thinking about, and I am not sure how far I can really stretch it, or exactly how I am going to maximize what I am working with.

I do know this, switching to 18/6 on Feb 1 & 3 in the big veg chamber. There are two sets of lights operating on two separate timers (bigger ballasts running 240, smaller 120). rather than try to sync them up, I have had them on alternating 20/4 cycles, so there are always lights on, but all of the lights take a 4 hour break throughout the day. What I do want to sync the lights up with is the natural daylight cycle, so one set of lights goes off at 8pm to 12am, and the other cycle goes off 2 am to 6 am. But switching it so they meet at 2 am, (6pm to 12am and 12am to 6am) If you look in the last picture set, at the two opposing ends are the 600 and 1000 mh's which are running on 240. 400 mh and the flouros are all 120 separate cycle. This seems to be working really well for the 20/4.

Saving a few more bucks, matching natural lighting cycle (coming a lot closer to it), and keeping them in strong veg with continuous light (kinda like 4 hrs of shade, during the night time).
Got a couple circulation fans finally, as temps in the big veg room were reaching 84-86 degrees, did the trick pretty quick, only using the smaller of the two for now (lots of work to do so I am not blowing a shitload of dusty dirt up in the air) back to a steady 75-77 ambient, 82 canopy consistent. RH staying smooth at 35%-50%, going to need to get ventalation asap so I can exhaust the big room, add the other circulation fans etc. should be ready for that in around the 18/6 switch. got sick for a day after overloading myself with work to get shit done, but I did.

week 3 flower update around the corner a couple of days, watered them this morning, yah just water :).

should have more of a veg update after a couple a days when I feel better. just before flower update probably. Just wanted to mark the progress of these cuts vs. beanie babies (< haha). puffin somethin getting me gone.....

expenses, options, questions..... in the end though- it will be what it will be and, its not all just up to me but....

when a fellow and respected friend and grower pops in and says "beautiful!" like it slipped off the tongue, it feels good, and maybe I am my own worst critic.

oh yeah!! aha. Whilst medicating I look up and in front of me is a folded up green piece of paper pinned to the pin up board that says "Grow Me :) " and I unfold it..... Inside is the schedule and cycles that I came up with back in beginning of December about a week after I got started. Looks like I am pretty close to being spot on, just a few plants shy of where I thought I would be. which is fine, more than fine as the light consumption needs to be dialed in a bit.
But that being said, there is a couple of rounds of cuttings in the works soon, and then reducing indoor light and switching to outdoor for veg in the late spring, maybe flowering a bunch inside- and hopefully cutting light usage in half at the same time!! that is what I am hoping for anyways, if I can skirt by upping things one more time between now and then for a couple of weeks. trying to keep the cycles balanced so I can keep the usage around the same it has been at its max.

So the question is-
Should I swap those 4 in flower under a 1000W and add a couple more with them?
Just leave them under the 400 to finish- They stink up the whole place. Like wham when you open the door. Same with the veg area- Slam.... warm humidity.... dank stankness. Throw them outside in 3 weeks, and start a whole different set flowering under a 1000 round then.....

Essentially its fairly simple.
Those big mommas in the large veg chamber are spring run ladies, and some definitely worth taking cuttings of.
The seedlings on the shelf in the big veg chamber are starting to show sex, and I can raise the light without moving them, for about 3 weeks, as I am really hoping they can stay there until the big ladies go out. At that time I can cut the veg light in about half, (mid-late feb), turn a couple off, maybe? throw the "seeds vs clones" set into the large veg chamber and replace them with new sets of cuttings (they should be able to stay in the incubation (baby box) for about 3-4 weeks. The idea is to use these cuts for continuous indoor flower, for multiple generations (6-8 generations if they stay strong)... would be nice to have a consistant flow of indoor smoke. So basicall the large veg chamber will fill up until the timing is right to take the ladies out for the full season run, and at the same time switch to flowering the clones under half of the light consumption- In April.
That means actually boosting the lighting between now and then, and then reducing it down once the veg season starts outside.

Maybe I just like the word "flow" sounds good anyways- but the workload stacks up for it just being one person. any thoughts ??

Veg Chamber Update- maybe 2-3 posts
I
dont think the pics do it justice, lol. Sooo much to do, watering tonight and tomorrow.... then onto work work work.... 2 fans running in there now, almost time to finish wrapping the room up and get an ac unit hooked up. Water line is desparately needed too haha!!! getting my thinking cap on for that (means getting baked off my ass and staring at the water lines, walls, and plants for a half hour... I already decided how I am going to do that, for the most part, the other parts than the most part will get filled in while I am doing it of course.... Took a bunch of pics because I always wind up wishing I could go back and just see it from that one other angle.
