They're taking off man. Props to you, they look beautiful.
Thanks, man! :) I was nervous about trying anything crazy with them since I've never done a complete grow before, but after the way the big one responded to the LST, I've decided to go ahead with the manifold on the smaller one as soon as she's ready.

Need to get another fabric pot and some more soil soon. She's almost there!

Do you mind if I share a picture of my first ever grow in here? I had great success as well with topping and LST on it and you might like to see the results!

Found this little guy on Nellie III, tonight. Normally I kill anything with 8 legs, but I'm thinking he might help with the worm problem, so he gets to stay, for now.

Nice! I have no room to judge anyone's grow setup. Mine's a pot in a plastic lawn chair. Haha You know what they say, "if it looks stupid, but it works, it's not stupid". ;)

Day 23 for Nellie V.

She gets her own post today with before and after pics of the first step of manifolding.

Before: Still a little thing, but looking healthy.

After: I won't lie I almost backed out. lol Its tough to watch one grow for 3 weeks and then take shears to her...

What I've only recently started doing is instead of taking everything off, I just take off all the growth shoots and leave the fan leaves. I've found that personally there's a significant recovery period when you take off everything like that. Just something for you to try in the future. Looking healthy though!

I have a question from left field. Why all the transplants? If your germinating in a glass of water, why not just go right to large fabric pots? Is it to determine which are the best candidates for full cycle/attention? FWIW I'm brand new, actually started my first grow (indoors) yesterday and I went straight to 3G smart-pots after soaking the seeds in water. Thanks man.

Partly to save space and conserve soil if a seed germs but for some reason doesn't grow well and partly because I'm a noob and it's what I saw other people doing. lol

My first attempt was a closet grow so it was mostly a space thing when I bought the little pots, but I had plenty left over so when I decided to try again I figured I'd use what I already had on hand.

The good thing about the jiffy pots is you don't have to take the plants out of them when you pot up. Just transplant pot and all and the pots basically dissolve into the soil.

Gotcha, ok cool man thanks for taking the time to answer it. I was worried I was making a mistake or something. I don't have space issues but to your point, it does seem sensible to cull the herd before committing to larger pots. Thanks again!

Day 43.

The main cola on this girl is 17 1/2" tall now.

Day 29. Nellie V seems to have recovered from her first topping quickly enough.

Big girl got moved inside today. Wife was worried about the neighbors seeing her. I have 3 lights set up, but I don't trust them as good veg lights, so I'm going to go ahead and start flowering. Guess I'll see what happens...
