Matt Mernagh...the new spokesman for tweed! Give me a fucking break. I really start to get worried when I keep hearing and reading about legalization in the wind. I don't trust the conservatives as far as I can throw them. Would it surprise anyone if they stared throwing that out? But then again, I saw some ad on the weekend regarding the provincial elections in Ontario. Suggesting that JT wants to sell pot to kids out of corner stores. I still don't trust them.

Matt Mernaugh writes/appears on Cannabis Culture's website regularly. A website who wrote an article on PPS(I've posted it here in the past) and their irradiation practices and the lack of studies on irradiated cannabis AND how patients should avoid it. Yet when I emailed them (Jodie,and Jeremiah) the SECOND Tweed announced irradiation. Never heard a damn PEEP back from them on it.

I also saw no articles condemning current LP's for this practice. Cannabis Culture had info about the "Green Rush"conference on their site, a conference Tweed and other LP's were at. It's not hard to fathom the thought that they're making friends, setting themselves up for when this green rush REALLY takes off in their eyes.

Throw in bubbleman at the conference in Toronto last week(Cannabis Culture inner circle) and it's not impossible to figure out. What's a person known for concentrates doing at a LP conference if LP's can't produce extracts? All these people who championed cannabis rights and "free marc", are now sitting idly and doing sweet F.A. I'm waiting to hear Emery's thoughts on this current system, given the response at CC I'd say he'll fall in line like the rest. They're gonna focus on legalization during the 2015 election, Not the current LP boondoggle. Mark my words

I just gave a cursory inspection of my wife's most recent shipment from tweed.

I hate to say it but it looks like an improvement from the prior shipments. I'll dump each jar out and snap some pics when I inspect later but it's looking up.

Credit where credit is due... They are improving. (They have set the bar really frigging low though)

Full disclosure: I've never seen/smelled top shelf meds first hand. Anything I've seen before mmpr bud was in little baggies about 10 years ago.

Nice to see Tweed has some tests published.
9.5% total cannabinoids on their self proclaimed Strain of the Harvest.
That is something to brag about. Irradiated and under 10% total.
Didn`t see any of the 360 tested strains at the Emerald Cup test so low.
Imagine what they didn`t publish.
9.5%???I haven't seen much above 6%cbd
how does tweet get there #s? pulls them out of the box of crap from were they get their mmj? bs

lol I meant 9.5% really???
not 9.5 what? lol I haven't seen a lot of cbd % over 6-7.5% and that's even from cbd crew.
You are misunderstanding, total cannabinoids and CBD are not the same thing. Total cannabinoids is the sum of the main cannabinoids, ie. THC + CBD + CBN, which in this case is only 9.5%, quite low.

CBD stands for cannabidiol, which is just one member of the cannabinoid family.

Sure Tweed is improving but it is still low grade weed and in no way should be considered medical grade. I have had black market weed way better then Tweeds best strains I have had from them. I have purchased from them 3 times and received below shelf grade weed. I know there weed is "better" then day 1 stuff but we should still not be happy that it is not medical grade since we are paying for a plant at a very high cost not only that it's our medication it better damn well smell look and perform good, that is the characteristics of good dank weed. To think in Canada a LP can't grow medical dank weed is just so hysterically funny.

GreenThumbz is Tweeds wonderful grower who is trying to save his job.
No person with green thumbs gives Tweed even one Green Thumb up with the job their growing team has done.
No person from Cali cares about supporting Canadian companies in ghost towns.
Keep writing your thoughts GreenThumbz we love to hear your ignorance.

Absolutely, given CC's compliance over the course of this whole ordeal. Where are all their articles condemning the LP's thus far? Where are all the articles that champion patients rights to grow? Or articles lambasting them over irradiation as they've done in the past. CC has toned WAY down. Their hand is in the cookie jar.

I know those two are close friends. What I should have said was "Why is he speaking at this conference".

Not hard to figure out...... forums are the last stand in reality ...... from true patient experiences and mostly unbiased comments ....... besides why would they shit on future advertisers ... LP's are their future money stream just like seed banks are right now.

Always said money wins over everything and the medical system is one of the worst of many systems that bow down to the money god. Take away money from the world and have people do what's right for the common good and most of the world problems will start to disappear. It's always a problem when you have to take in account the bottom line or when someone or group wants more than everyone else.

Health Care Affordability=money
Homelessness=money
Crime=money
pollution=money
starvation=money
Education=money
corruption=money
slavery=money
I could go on forever but I think you get the idea

I would work for free helping my fellow human beings, if I never had to worry about the basics of life (roof over my head, food in my stomach) sounds a little communist though eh? remove the greed and corruption in the communist model add variety and the rights of a free society you will see a new world.

Tweed Announces Collaborative Research Partnerships with Leading Academics

OTTAWA, July 3, 2014 /CNW/ - Tweed Marijuana Inc. (TSXV: TWD) is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary Tweed Inc. ("Tweed") is launching collaborative research with researchers from two leading Canadian universities at its facility in Smiths Falls, Ontario.

The recently signed Memoranda of Understanding with researchers from Ryerson University and the University of Ottawa will contribute towards building a better knowledge base surrounding medical marijuana in Canada. "With the new regulatory system in place, producers and researchers now have the stability to undertake research not possible in the past," said Tweed CEO Chuck Rifici. "These projects will shed insight into everything from ideal growing conditions to the very question of what makes medical marijuana an effective medicine."

The first experiments on how environment can affect the health and productivity of cannabis plants are already underway. "We know that there are a huge number of environmental factors that can influence the quality of medical marijuana, and our goal is to narrow down on some of those key success factors," said Dr. Lesley Campbell, Assistant Professor in the Ryerson Department of Chemistry and Biology.

Complementing the work being undertaken with Dr. Campbell, Tweed has further partnered with academics Cory Harris, Doug Johnson and John Arnason at the University of Ottawa to assess correlations between active ingredients in medical marijuana and strain effectiveness on selected ailments. "There is an exceptional opportunity to really start to understand the complex effects of active ingredients in marijuana," said University of Ottawa Professor John Arnason. "This work has the potential to open up entire new avenues of research into medical marijuana and we look forward to working with Tweed to move the sector forward."

The research work will be ongoing for the foreseeable future and will be an important aspect of Tweed's strategic plans.
