Tutorial to Growing with Cfl's

Cool thanks. I also want to add some tube cfl's on all four sides. Do I keep to the same light cycle the whole time?
When you grow autos you can use whichever light cycle you like 12-12, 18-6, 0-24. Also if you want to add more light that's fine. Autos are idiot proof of cannabis (not that I'm calling you an idiot).

How r u growing? Medium u using?

i think i will be using soil. I have 2 plants growing now from seeds but i do not know if they are male or female.
Amended soil? How much prep work have you done? When you say you do not know if your current grow is m/f does this mean you're growing bag seed as well besides autos? How are you feeding ur plants?

i just used some soil out the bag. I was going to a different mixture if i trans pot them. Just some seeds i have from smoking. i am going to order some auto's this week. I have a bottle its kind of basic. I have some fish water as well. There is no real method i am following this time around. i want to step it up before i do the auto's. i am thinking of using worm castings with one pot, the other i am going to get two other gardener's i know to make a mix. and the forth i am not sure what it will be yet. I may even go with a bubbler pot.

Sounds to me Son that you really didn't really give this much planning the old adage truly applies here "if you fail to plan, you plan to fail" you need to do some research not just drop some seeds in a pot and expect great results. I had spent 5 months doing research and prepping my soil before I popped my first bean I spent about $200-$300 bucks (but I could afford it) for a simple grow now I just water and that's it. Her is my mixture of Super soil you can find cheaper alternatives out there but the name of the game is patients otherwise you're more likely to be disappointed. You should do a soil grow it is more forgiving for novices however you can switch once you get knowledge under your belt, however I don't do hydro I do organic none of that chemical grow for me, taste better too. After you do your mixture you have to let it sit for 1month before you start using the soil mixture. You can start out with quality soil (I use roots organic) which has enough nutrients for 30 says which is enough to time for cooking your soil before xplanting.

Growing can be so much fun and rewarding but you have to do your research otherwise I guarantee failure.

Good luck and Happy Growing!

trying to decide between using CFL and a plug and play LED like:

https://www.amazon.com/VIPARSPECTRA-Reflector-Spectrum-Indoor-Plants/dp/B019ETLC7M/ref=sr_1_3?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1485546349&sr=1-3&keywords=viparspectra

not sure exactly what a complete CFL setup requires as far as different bulbs and what not. any help would be greatly appreciated, plan on using this setup for veg and flower, 3 plants max in a relatively small grow tent, most likely in Fox farms Soil.

Cheers!
It really depends on what your funds can handle. We have like forever to do it now. I am starting with an cfl 6500k for veg and a 2700k for flowering. I may work on creating combo of lights. Look through you tube at cfl Grows. I am a newbie as well.

another quick question, would i be better off with a stand alone Viparspectra 600W LED system, or a CFL mashup with 6 23 watt 6500k, 5 23w 2700k, and 1 cheapo LED grow light with 660,630,and 460nm outputs? the CFLs would be placed 3 above in a triangle type formation with the LED in the middle(4 total lights directly above) with the remaining 8 lights set in the corners of the tent coming indirectly from the sides. both set ups will cost me right around 230 euros.

Or you get generic LED bulbs (at least 100lm/w) preferably 100w equivalents. (13-15W) remove the bulb/diffuser part and use that.

Actually more efficient than the Viparspectra.

But the vipar should beat CFL too, easily.

27400lx means that at that specific spot the light intensity is 27400 lumen/square meter.

Total lumen output is probably around 11000 lumen.
