Turned a female into a male

ahaha sprayed this plant about a month ago with colloidial silver to try making some fem seeds. "It" was a female a month ago but in the last 2 weeks it has totally reversed its sex. Thought it was female 2 days until I looked at it today. little freaky

First 2 pics are from 2 days ago then the last 2 were taken today.
its a northern lights. its forming male flowers on female buds or something

all i gotta say man is not to mess with mother nature cuz she'll bite back.. i'd rather have male and female seed then turn one of my girls into a male

You will have plenty fem seeds for next year maybe the rest of your time growing. Did you spray the hole plant or just one of the bottom branches.

ya hope it gets me some good fem seeds. sprayed the plant only once with cs about a month ago. got to figure out where to put it so theres no pollen flying around everywhere.

Really interesting. I thought they used gibberellic acid to force a plant to change sex to male. I'd love to know the source of the info you found about using silver instead.

nope not from fem seed. The plant is a northern lights f2, made seeds 2 years ago with a male and a female of northern lights. Its pollen when used on a different female is suposed to make fem seeds. From what I have read it is male pollen with the XY female chromazones. Ill have to test them out this winter before I use them in outdoor guerilla though, dont want any hermie traits for outdoors.

I thought you need to hermi an already feminized plant in order to get fem seeds.

edit: the pollen is XX chromozones (female)

I have never read that before, I have actually read the opposite. I heard you shouldnt breed with fem seeds, could be wrong though.

I think he just means a female plant. You use the g. acid on the female plant. This causes the plant to hermi. You then take the pollen from that plant and use it on another female.

I'm not sure why it would mater if you used a feminized seed or not. I'm not a geneticist though so don't have any where near enough knowledge to form an opinion.

What i read, or think i read, is that the plant your trying to get fem seeds from has to have grown from a fem seed itself.

Seeds are not male of female. They have a probablity of becoming either but it is decided when the plant matures.

Now when you feminize seeds I guess you can say those are "female" because they have the RNA from two females instead of the RNA from a male and female. But you should call them feminized not female.
