trying to find pictures of multiple generations

Hello RIU I am hoping one of you guys can help me out a little bit with this. I am trying to understand how the generations differ while breeding. If anybody has any pictures of like, the 2 parents, then the seeds produced grown out, and possibly even another generation on top of it that would really help. I want to see what different phenos pop out from what kinds of strains if that would be helpful with my question.

Thank you - Ryan

Nobody took any pictures of their parents and babies/grandchildren grown out? in plant terms...

the variation would depend on if the grower started with an inbred line or not. if they did start with an already stale strain, there should be little pheno variation. you get the variation mostly when you back cross a hybrid bred from two different strains, then, you get a full range of offspring with a random mix of traits from each of their grandparents.

if you want to see the variations, try keywording pheno and see if you can't find threads with pics of different phenos. i have a really lousy pic of my first grow with the flower pots all at different elevations and you can see that there's a tall pheno and a shorter one, but the pic is really busy with other plants in the background blending in, then i took a pic of the cross i made with a C99 male and my super cali haze freebie, but that's a hybrid and not exactly what you're looking for, and it was too young to be showing distinctive traits anyways.

when i looked for phenos here, this thread came up
https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/577055-great-pheno-hunt-vertical-grow.html

offspring can have ANY range of pheno variation in size, shape, color, leaf formation... whatever. what you're looking for is pics of f2 phenos in particular.

I know about phenos, I am trying to see how, if one were to polinate a plant and took pictures of the plant that you took a clone off of for the mother budded out, and the father(with his wonderful flowers) and then pictures of the seedlings from that cross when they were budded out. I am trying to find a picture similarity with the parents and see how it works out that way. I will look into that thread but in the back of my head something is telling me it is not exactly what I am looking for. I am wanting to see how different and in what ways multiple offspring from f1, f2, f3 or bx whatever I want to see how they differ from each other, and from the parents. But thank you again and I will definately check out that thread right about now.

EDIT: Not exactly what I was looking for, I am looking for parents, that produced your seeds, and your seeds grown out with pictures of the offspring and the different variations you noticed, possibly even explain which one smells(or if you finished the grow) tastes more like the mom/aunt(fathers sisters)

i'd help, but taking pics is of no interest to me at all and i only do it for troll STFU repellant. i'm all about smoke reports. breeders are a minority of growers, so that's not in your favor. i imagine too many of them don't care to take pics of everything either, but you never know. someone might pop in eventually. sometimes, you just can't get answers to even BASIC questions like comparisons of critical +, G13, C13, NL5, skunk #1, & mango etc. hazes. don't take it personal. you just seemed to ask an outside of the box question.

if anything, why don't you do exactly that and keep a record of your generations. i know how pissed i've been wasting literally YEARS in other forums trying to get DETAILED smoke reports & comparisons for strains that get you high, and never getting so much as a single acceptable description of the apollo 11 and super silver haze everyone was trying to push me into all the way back to '04, so i make mental notes of all the strains i try myself so i can do that where few others do.

try browsing this sub-forum for f1, f2 & f3 etc. threads. you might find pics there. it's amazing how much info that SHOULD be out there you can't find anywhere on the internet. it's only available if someone bothers to share. try looking for a song that was on the radio even 10 years ago sometimes. been there done that.

I'm way ahead of you on that one :P I have a 3 ring binder with probably 20 pages of notes from my last grow. So I will definately be doing this for when I get the space set up to begin breeding. If you have a template for a smoke report I could make some for the strains I grew out this last year.

oh do i ever hate template reports! there's no "poetry" to them. they're HARD to read. if you just talk about a strain in plain english, you should be able to sum up it's notable qualities in a single easy to read paragraph. i only skip to the summaries in the smoke report forum and don't visit it too often because i disagree with the format. it makes me NOT want to read "smoke reports". the actual template should be in a sticky in that particular forum.

here's that annoying counter-intuitive info obfuscating maze that turns getting high into a science experiment (blech! i hate it! LOL)
https://www.rollitup.org/smoke-reports/524694-smoke-report-template.html
i refuse to use it, so i don't post there and just talk casually about my experiences careful not to say the words "smoke report" here as you need a freakin' lawyer to do so.

what can be said in a paragraph not much more than twice as long as the one above has to turn into an abomination 10 times longer where you actually have to hunt for the details, and the way they're broken down into individual "components", only serves to complicate stuff to the point it's hard to even picture the strain's REAL personality the way you could in plain english.

if you asked a buddy about a hot date he had, who the eff wants to hear a checklist of her height, weight, measurements, eye color and so on... you want to hear how wild she was in bed and how tight that pooty was. statistics RUIN info, unless you're reporting on politics or the economy etc. they have no place in smoke reports as far as i'm concerned. i refuse to go along with that definition of smoke reporting, so i don't do "smoke reports" using that title... just comparisons and experience etc. *sigh*

Here you go Ryan:

My pineapple thai that i bought from a local dispensary. i selected to breed her bc of her awesome day at the beach like high, the ease to grow her, and the unique pineapple smell and taste.
pt 7-14 3stalks whole plant 27inches.jpg this pic is from this summer.

The male i selected (only 1 male tahoe but other males in the grow) was a tahoe og kush male from cali connect. i liked his structure, thickness of stem, etc and the smell was an og like smell.
these are pics from my original thread on riu. check my history (grow 2) to see more.

here's a pic from the breeding closet. i put the male in there with the pineapple thai and tahoe og kush female.
mini breed 1 - og1 x pt & og2.jpg

i only got 11 seeds of the pineapple thai x tahoe og kush. i then grew only 6 of them out with other breeder seeds to make sure they didn't stand out as terrible. i wanted to grow them outdoor this last season and started with them early '12. 4/6 i liked their look and structure, so I put them outside and watched closely. 2 were males and i selected the best one (pog1) and kept him. he smelled like momma and grew similar to her too. my goal was to make a bx with him and maybe even f2's of pineapple og. Both female weree looking good and had a great pineapple smell with hint of og in the finish. My dog killed my favorite one (pog6) but i made clones! Then there was only 1! The POG5 was my only survivor for the outdoor '12 season. I crossed the pog1 male to the mother plant and to the remaining pog5 outside and got about 80 f2 seeds and 60 bx seeds! here are some pics:

male pog1
pog1.jpg here he is later and needs water. grows just like momma! pog1 male to bx.jpg

pog6 female the dog ripped out
pog6 6-2.jpg see how similar she is to the momma pt?

pog5 female that i'm smoking almost daily now!
pog5 8-14.jpg she has more og like leaves than pog6 but at the end she really started to get that pineapple smell. she smokes better and yields better than the mom and i like the taste a lot better bc it's not as sweet. the slight og influence in the smell and taste really makes her unique and leaves the room smelling like heaven afterwards. she is my fav daytime smoke now and my two friends that have had her like her better than every other strain i have right now! i didn't clone her but have the pog6 and 5 more f1 seeds. I am more excited about the pog line f2's than i am about the bx now!

hope that helps. i'll be updated my pog cross every once in a while here on riu once i get more data :weed:
