Trouble with newly transplanted clones... I think- RDWC

i have 6 newly transplanted Blue Satellite clones. Two of which i am worried about.

PH- 5.8
temp-79F
humidity-35%
distance from 600W MH- 2 feet 8 in.
PPM- dont have a meter yet... :(

They are the smallest two and both show the same signs of stress, very droopy. I think they need higher humidity, (its at 35%) but i figured id ask you guys before i started misting my ass off. these are the only two that dont have substantial root development outside the net pot. one of them has this...

and thats it, the other has one that looks like its about to get through the pot.

The others have root development like this...

the two droopy ones are about 8 in. tall and a few inches shorter than the others. they were all well rooted in an aero cloner when i got them, however the grower had just gotten out of jail and while he was gone they hit the light and burned a little bit. the burn started clearing up the first day so i think im doing allright, except for the droopy ones.

also, should i be worried that none of the netpots have roots out the bottom?
they are all coming out the sides. im assuming this means i didnt transplant them deep enough but who knows im a noob. :)

Mine looked like that when I completely changed the nute formula on a reservoir change, they popped back up within 24hours. How long have they looked like this?

they were transplanted on Sunday around 12 PM. when i woke up at 4 AM monday they were slightly drooping and were a little worse when i got home 11 hours later. they havent gotten any worse, the first one pictured has improved slightly today. probably not coincidentally the one that has improved has shown roots through the net pot.

about 40 hours as of this post

I'm thinking of making a dome for them. From what ive gathered plastic wrap suspended over the plant seems to be the simplest. This seems to good to be true, does it have to be air tight?

is the problem even low humidity? anyone?

I dont think the humidity is a concern now I think there past that stage, you may want to water them from the top until you get some good roots out of the net pots, and a little misting with a spray bottle wont hurt either.if they were in an areo cloner then you most likely got them with just roots,if thats how you got them I would guess that the roots cant get enough water.good luck

Okay... My roots used to look like that! I went to my local hydro store & they suggested Canna's Rhizotonic. This stuff works! If your arm is a root this makes the hairs on your arm! It's amazing stuff and my ladies have doubled in size in 2 weeks of use!

Here's my roots before putting Rhizotonic in...

Here's my seedling 1 week old just added rhizotonic two days ago... before adding it was a white single root.

I couldn't be more pleased with this product. So impressed that I plan on switching to Canna's entire product line after this grow. I have picked up another Canna nutrient to promote sugar production during bloom which basically replaces the Rhizotonic as you don't use it during veg
instead you use boost or there bloom product.

shit i was just at the hydro store. what does that cost?

however the plants have started more root growth but they continue to droop. a little worse now actually.
my ph is good, i used 80% of the recommended clone dosage (humboldt nutrients), now that i think about it maybe theyre nute deprived. rez change isnt scheduled until sunday, should i up the strength sooner?

everything else is good far as i know. my ppm meter should be here by monday at the latest so then that will be easier to monitor.

its only been 5 days since transplant, so im trying to develop the mentality that with time they will get better, but im a noob so im panicking and have no patience.

bear with me.

thanks guys for your suggestions

That size bottle is around $20... I have never used a root additive before and was very impressed with how well it worked. I would highly suggest it. I added 30ML in 4GA reservoir & my PPM did not move!

I think they were drooping because of under-watering like Snocat said. now they each have some roots through the net pot so i hope they pick up soon. http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii107/jtthunderbolt/1008102140-00.jpg

the first two photos are the reason i started this thread but now a couple leaves on every plant have began to curl in as they drooped.

I decided to try a rez change with a full dose now, i am keeping the feed line on 24/7. The DIY circular drip emmiters were dripping in channels and roots were hanging in certain spots so i manipulated them and now the disperse around the whole net pot.

Wish me luck!

You hit the nail on the head. Patience is one of the only things you can't learn from a book or reading posts or even with a good mentor. Once your roots start swimming in the rez a little more they will start to perk up and really take off. usually takes about a weeks or so from transplant for my roots to grow out an hit the water. It was suggested earlier in the thread that you top feed for a few days. This is great advice and will keep your roots moist so that they can grow out in search of water. Also, don't worry if you don't see roots out of the bottom of the net pot right away. They are gonna grow however they want in order to reach water. Later on more will develop and start coming out the bottom. Good luck man.

thanks bud. i havent been being very patient, haha. i topfed them this morning with ph balanced water to flush them out a bit. then i turned the feedlines on and came back a couple hours later and the water was in the netpots, way up there.

im gonna watch them and see how long it takes to get up about halfway then im gonna turn it off for 15 min to allow drainage. i have a 1/2 return line so it is slow to get back in he rez.

I've been reading in my Jorge Cervantes Grow Bible http://books.google.com/books?id=fERzFsZhdxYC&pg=PA257&dq=jorge+cervantes+nutrient+deficiencies&hl=en&ei=7aywTPXCGZGRnwffvM34CA&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=2&ved=0CDcQ6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q&f=false and i think i had multiple deficiencies, the most prominent being a N deficiency. scroll down to the first pics of leaves when you click that link. i think thats what my leaves look like.

Both of the weak clones have more root development. these are the weakest plants roots

the 4 stronger plants are doing well, a little bit of light browning on some roots but im hoping that was due to underfeeding.

i have some floaties in my rez but not as much in the actual buckets, they are almost clear.

I plan on getting some SM-90 next week i read a bunch about it yesterday and was very intrigued.

should i worry about root rot?
