Hey all.
Noticed this damage on my leaves today...I'm on my first grow but from what I looked up I believe they are thrips? Or Nymphs...

I don't see any action on the stems/leaves but there are buggas buzzin and crawlin in my soil! I see 2 or 3 per pot (5 plants in my tent). When I got to water at least 15 come flyin out! I sprayed them with neem about a week ago, however I am now about 3 weeks into flower and as you can see, I have pistils. I will try to get a pic of the culprits...they look like the same things flying around my bananas but after seeing that plant damage I don't want to mess around!

Here's the best macro I could get with my phone camera.
Got about 15 minutes left of lights on for them. Could do something real quick tonight

I had noticed similar dmg on my leaves, looking underneath those leaves i would find chunky little brown mites just visible to the naked eye, they often would be huddled up together and had there tiny black tar poop dots clearly visible scattered all around the underside of the leaf was a trip looking at them under a scope do you see anything under those dmg leaves?

The pic you posted looks like a fungus gnats. There are a 1000 ways to get rid of them if you search the site, sticky traps and not over watering would be a good start. The damaged leaves look like thrips or spider mites. If its thrips, You need Monterey garden insect spray or something else with spinosad as the active ingredient. Ive never had mites so don't know the best treatment for them. Look in the leaf veins where they meet the stem that's where they hide.

Thanks for replying to an old thread.
I ended up soil drenching with montery spinosad. They have signifcantly reduced in numbers, but I'm still finding leaves with new damage. I think I'm going to carefully spray the leaves with the spino. Girls are close to 4 weeks in now...definitely will be bud washing come harvest

haha I didn't look at the date. You gotta spray leaves. I put my plants in a bath tub took a pump sprayer and hit every leaf top and bottom. You're only about halfway threw flower it shouldn't be an issue,Monterey is organic and can be used a week before harvest on food crops.
